Brain, what do you think that ghug is doing early on in the game other than shitposting? Why do you think that sharing reads at the beginning of D1 is actually helpful in any way, shape, or form at all? The only people that know jack right now are scum.

I do see the potential problem yes. I just think since I don't have any strong suspicions right now its a good strategy. If I manage to get a good read on someone before the deadline I'll vote for them instead.

I really haven't played many games. But it seems to me lurkers will start to post if their train is up with a few hours to the deadline, or seems to be gaining a lot of momentum. I would consider NES to be a lurker, but as far as other players go I think the day needs to go on longer before I can really pass judgement on that given the way timezones work.

My primary strategy is to scum hunt, the multiple lurker trains strategy is my suggestion for a fallback if there aren't good reads towards the end of the second day. I think you're correct it does let scum get away with low justification votes. I do think that also makes it more likely they will try and manipulate the trains away from their own. So I don't think the risk is that large because I think we'll get equally good data from it.

Which is to say I think the lack of "connective tissue" won't actually make as much of a difference because I think we'll be more informative swings in votes between trains.

Ghug was actually annoyed at being voted by seven. And seven backed out of it claiming they misread the early game and mistook me for ghug. Thats odd for sure.

Literally, right off the bat, you’re telling two people not to do what they do and give us information. You’re trying to stunt things.

On page 1, two of your three posts were about ghug and Demon. After not posting on page 2, four out of your five posts on page 3 were about ghug and Demon. Of these posts, you voted for ghug, indicating that you think you can read him since you’ve been scum with him but as ghug not so subtly pointed out, you didn’t actually give any reasoning. Moments later, you said you don’t actually have anything but that you were just pressure voting. You then went on to make useless banter with ghug for the next however long and gave absolutely no effort to pressure him. In fact, I would argue that you completely let him off the hook for… well, nothing, since you never gave any reasons for voting him in the first place.

So, again, I ask you: why are you so concerned in interfering with the early interactions between Demon and ghug? Why are these two more important to you than anything right off the bat and if you’re not actively trying to get in their way, why are you letting their interactions that haven’t even happened yet get in your way? There is nothing productive about this sequence even though you were trying way too hard to be productive.

Hmmm. That is odd. When I was reading the thread at the time I totally bought it. But when you phrase it like that it almost sounds like seven voting for a team member and pulling back when he saw Ghug's reaction.

He has, plenty. It’s like a natural instinct for him; it’s what he does. If you acknowledge that all he was doing prior to those three posts was shitposting, then why do you dismiss him being “out of character” - your own words - early on?

Those three posts on page 7 aren’t exactly informative. In those first two posts, ghug is pointing out plainly obvious flaws in someone’s explanation for voting him. This was his first call to action, I suppose? In his third post on page 7, all he did was answer a question that you asked. How is that on its own so clearly townie that you’re willing to overlook him being out of character, again in your own words?

Honestly the more you guys give me shit about not falling in line and townreading ghug like I'm apparently supposed to, the more I don't like him so far. He can reply to all my posts in the morning, but till then, ##VOTE ghug.

@bo- I mean honestly, i have no explanation. There isn't some deeper meaning to my posts other than: last game they bickered. I thought it was useless. I would prefer if they didn't waste town time again since they are both skilled players who if focused on eachother don't focus on catching other scum. Honestly, I feel good about my opinion in the matter. They can keep an eye on eachother without shitposting about eachother. In regards to my ghug vote. I have played two games with him and he has been scum in one of those games. I feel with some more input I can get a good read on him what you perceive as useless banter was in fact me working conversation to feel him out. I got an odd vibe and as you should take notice i grouped him into my not ready to lynch in D1 but not feeling good about group...
