Bills are 3-0. Another huge comeback. They beat the Patriots for the first time like in a decade. I'm pumped.

Ron Paul 2012!
come on, the guy's just a total boss. get the troops out of afghanistan, iraq...hell, everywhere! germany, south korea...etc. abolish the minimum wage, federal income tax, and basically every department except defense, state, and justice (he'd probably keep veteran affairs and treasury, not sure about those two), legalize marijuana, free trade, balanced budget, no draft, states' rights, and END THE FED. Liberty/Revolution!

I see it Thucy, those are excellent thoughts. Let's do some research into 'significant' events of the medieval era that encompass one of those areas 'France, England, Italy, Germany' I'll post my thoughts on that soon.
FirstApple (100 D(B))

Do you mean Godfrey as being more German?
Draugnar (0 DX)
31 Aug 11 UTC
I like Canden Burquet. And how about Katalina Fryst for the doctor?
FirstApple (100 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
Katalina Fryst - I love it! Has a 'smart' feel about it like a scientist would, believable, rolls off the tongue easily. She has my vote!
Draugnar (0 DX)
31 Aug 11 UTC
Katalina being a cross of Katerina and Catelyn. Fryst being a variation on Frost. She gets iced pretty early on, so the surname is really an inside joke for us.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
I dunno I guess Godfrey is also pretty English.

Why not just leave it at Muench? Or something? I didn't know monks had last names I thought they assumed a name like the Pope.

Also I hate playing credibility police so much but:

I know and agree future first names will change a lot, but I can guarantee that in several hundred years people will still be named Johnson and Chang and Campbell and Shepherd and so on. Last names are immutable, for the most part. Maybe if this was 1000 years hence would I believe the altered last names - but 1000 years hence who knows, perhaps the naming system we have now is abolished in favor of something else.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
But Canden Burquet is fine strikes me as believable then and now - which is good.
Draugnar (0 DX)
31 Aug 11 UTC
Martin Luther had a last name. He was both priest and monk.
Thucydides (864 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
I feel like a lot of people back then didn't *really* have last names, they just sort of had something people called them.

Like Johannes the Pious.
Draugnar (0 DX)
31 Aug 11 UTC
@Thucy - the number of names that were made up as people came through Ellis Island... New surnames have come along in the last two hundred years, so new ones should come along in the next two hundred.
Draugnar (0 DX)
31 Aug 11 UTC
And Fryst is an Indonesian name. There is a guy on facebook from Indonesia named Switen Fryst.
FirstApple (100 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
So Katalina will be half-indonesian then? Her father was Indonesian, her mother American?
FirstApple (100 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
I agree with Thucy though, why not go with Johannes Muench?
Draugnar (0 DX)
31 Aug 11 UTC
Why not Indonesian and Russian (Katalina being so close to Katerina). Maybe dad studied in Moscow where he met mom and then they both came to the states before Katalina was born. Or she could have been born on or near Catalina Island. Do you know how many misspelled names there are out there. I mean, just look at the urban community for some odd spellings like Shonna for Shauna.
Draugnar (0 DX)
31 Aug 11 UTC
I'm good with that considering Johannes is more German. Jonathan/John would be the English equivalent.
FirstApple (100 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
That's an idea, a Russian/Indonesian - got hired by an American research and development firm. Speaks English as a second language (ie with an accent)
FirstApple (100 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
I think we're 'trying' to go German with this, aren't we?
Thucydides (864 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
Yeah seems like it but we could decamp to England or France if we change the monks name
FirstApple (100 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
Either way is good with me.

I'm thinking maybe the monk wants to possibly 'stop' the burning of Joan of Arc because she was God's saint? Just a thought.
Draugnar (0 DX)
31 Aug 11 UTC
Well, in the future, I'm sure borders will be more open in the civilized world and we already have Russian scientists in the US and American ones in Russia and joint efforts (like the ISS and CERN).
FirstApple (100 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
Sounds good to me. So that's settled, Canden Burquet and Katalina Fryst, welcome to the story.
WardenDresden (239 D(B))
31 Aug 11 UTC
Huzzah! Now we just need to iron out the location, and with that, our event and Monk's name.

Hillary 2016, Anyone?
There was a time where I REALLY loathed Hillary Clinton, but the job she's done as Secretary of State...she's EASILY been the most effectual person in the Obama administration...and hey, I liked the 1990s, and while I didn't like him as a kid, as an adult, I do appreciate Bill...

Would anyone else here consider voting for her in 2016 (or even make her the favorite?)

Carry a grudge or friendship
I wanna know, would you or have you carried a grudge from one game to another? Like you want to destroy this particular player because he betrayed you in a previous game?
Likewise, have you experienced carrying a friendship or alliance from one game to the next, like you'd send a message to a player saying "wanna be friends again :-)" and other player replied "sure, worked so well last time..."

Dreamhost
This website used to be run on Dreamhost, and even though I dissaproved of it, they are great for small-time or personal use. They're running a special right now, $9 for an entire year. If you've ever thought of having a website, a blog, or even just [email protected] for your emails, right now is the time to do it.

Check it out: http://www.dreamhost.com/r.cgi?1197759

Help Wanted: Critique My Personal Statement
I'll be applying to medical school in the next few weeks, and would appreciate any feedback you all have on my personal statement. It's a very rough draft, so any thoughts are welcome. I'm probably about 125 words short of the maximum right now (The maximum is actually 5300 characters, and I'm around 4000)
