-I'm sitting this one out in respect for you guys. I've not got enough time to handle RL responsibilities this season, much less time to participate responsibly in a game. I'll be in the spectator thread when/where I can, following along with the rest of town as they figure things out. That said, I've seen how beneficial it is to have subs ready, support subbing over modkilling, and want to see a good game. If things are so dire that I am needed to sub in, I will likely not be able to read the entire backlog of pages, so sub ND in first.
-Jamie asked about the idea of having to end the day by hammering it. The benefits of the day-hammer seem to be more incentive for participation, but I'm not sure that outweighs the benefits of fixed-length phases. IMO fixed phases helps people in different time zones be able to participate in the same phase, even if no one is online when you are. You don't all have to be online a whole lot at the same time, but have the freedom to check in when you can, or post according to a strategy that includes the use of time. Fixed length phases means that you can play within a stable framework of *time* ...as part of the game. That's present for day-hammering, but not at all the same way. I like it the way we have better. Solutions to lurking are... well, some develop naturally. I got quite-rightly nailed as lurky obvscum. If that tactic catches on, good town metagame shift ought to begin thinking about policy lynching lurkers, or at least putting _significant_ pressure (significant means "more than three votes for about an hour")
-IMO, a standardized doc role should be able to self-save, but that save counts as a "visit" (for watcher/CCTV purposes), regardless of the weirdness that causes for the flavor. And of course, the doc counts as a "player" so that he/she cannot visit the same player on consecutive nights.
-I'm glad to see darg GMing, and a vanilla setup.
-I can confirm that zorclex' schudule prevented him from actually playing and reading before the time he confirmed he'd be available. He did get subbed in early,
-RIP goldfinger. maybe you should have had your threatened family sign up to play.
