This may sound funny, but...

...what would you do if some players played helping you in a way more than suspicious?

I mean, suppose someone is basically letting you win by playing poorly. What would you do? Take the offer, or propose a draw?

In cases of CD's or something of that sort, I would usually propose a draw rather than solo. I only want to win if every player has tried their hardest to stop me and failed utterly :)

Now, if I was already in a position where the CD didn't affect anything, I'll still solo.

You can play the game however you like, if it is more fun for that player to give you a win in order to make sure someone else doesn't get in on the draw that is his choice. I've done that once myself. Posting suspicious activity on the forum however is not allowed. Check the rules under the help tab to see how to report suspicious players without breaking the rules yourself.

Don't worry about that, BoV, you don't have a reputation :).

Always assume the enemy is up to something. What may appear like some fool letting you win may be someone who is looking for the perfect moment to turn on you when he just happens to be in a vital part of the stalemate line. If it does turn out you have bossed him to the extent he's lost the will to live, that's a bonus.

Vega, there's a rule of thumb that most people follow here: if there's a CD in 1901 or 1902, you draw. Any CDs later, it's up to you. Reputation is worth nothing here. SplitDiplomat never cared about his, and he's the best player on the site. The opponent's bad play doesn't count, nobody would propose a draw for that.

@BreathOfVega I'm not a mod, just giving you a heads up so you don't lose points.

@ FD, probably should have said it breaks the no talking about ongoing games rule.

@ Zmaj, that is debatable, best at live gunboats, probably. Best at classic full press games, no way in hell, that would go to MadMarx or Babak, both of whom actually do have good reputations.

@Zmaj - maybe SD is better than everyone in gunboat, but in full press games its really anyone's to grab. MM and Babak are good, but I've been in games where both of them got the shit kicked out of them and were eliminated. I don't really think there is a "Best player" but rather a group of many equally strong players.

^ Draugnar has almost no points because he got docked them. Another reason why points don't matter (I have more points than Draug, and Draug is a much better player than me)

Zmaj, points mean nothing. Draugnar, uclabb, rdrivera2005, Babak, Crazyter, TheHangedMan, Sargmacher, Yellowjacket, LanGaidin, Lando, and dozens of others I would put ahead of SD in a regular game

and it is also just a measure of how many games people played

someone who plays live games will get points more than quickly than a person playing 10 day phase games only

and there are variants (gunboat, full press). I would LOVE to see SplitDiplomat play a full press game

I am leaving the site

I just moved to Princeton and my life will be involved with study for the coming year. Therefore, I don't have the time to spend on diplomacy.

WebDip Triathlon Round 2

Why are the only games i've seen for 2-3 days only 5 and 10 point games... i've had a 101 point standard game up for 2 days and no takers... it didn't used to be like this...
