Apologies
Hi all-
I don't think I NMR'd at all, but my apologies for being MIA since Saturday. I was unexpectedly hospitalized. Now I am resting and spending time with love ones after a few scary days, but I will catch up on my press I promise.

Wins over defeats * (draws +survives) all over total finished = R
R * average R of all previous opponents

Grilled tomato, back bacon, egg in the basket, pancakes with the last of the fresh peaches and a drizzle of maple syrup, sausages, and two mugs of Barry's.

Call that breakfast?

This morning I had:

2 pork sausages
3 rashers smoked back bacon
2 slices of black pudding
4 slices of hot buttered toast
2 grilled tomatoes
beans
fried mushrooms

orange juice
coffee

The lack of egg is because I'm allergic to egg white, sadly. But otherwise, mmmmm!

I did ask for fried mushrooms, but sadly, there were none to be found.

Black pudding was never popular in my house, but where's the cakes and maple syrup? The peaches made it perfect!

Jamie, that is so much. You brits takes breakfast seriously.

I currently have a sandwich toasting in the toaster oven. Yeah!

Pfft, canadian, not british. (hence the lack of bubble or black pudding and the addition of pancakes.)

Yes, go Canada. I'm sorry I didn't catch the maple syrup, eh.

Tomatos? For breakfast? I hate tomatos unless they are pulverized into a sauce and cooked up, or they finely diced and added to an extra large portion of other vegies (especially peppers) and made into a salsa. Otherwise BLECH!

I like an omelet or scrambled eggs (depending on my mood) with mushrooms, onions, hashbrown potatoes, and jack cheese inside/scrambled in. Add a side of biscuits and a half dozen sausage links all smothered in sausage gravy. Hot tea (Earl Gray or English Breakfast), OJ (reduced sugar OJ, that is) and milk to drink.

What I had was egg salad and cheese on a couple of toasted English muffins with some iced chai. Good, but not as good.

#2 Breakfast for me is SOS, aka creamed chipped beef on toast (4 slices smothered in the stuff!) with a big glass of milk and another of OJ.

#3 is pancakes or waffles with real vermont maple syrup and the aforementioned biscuits and sausage smothered in gravy. OJ and tea on this one (no milk).

And for a light breakfast, when I have the time, I like goetta (look it up, kind of like scrapple) fried till it's crisp with a hard fried egg on a biscuit.

I wake up early to make sure I never have a quick breakfast, but I hardly get the full monty unless family is cooking.

Usually its real pancakes (batter lasts 3 days) and a fruit and ontario amber maple (none of that vermont crap!) sometimes bacon, tomatoes if we have some ripe, and 1-2 cups of tea followed by my comute coffee.

Working at my bakery sometimes screwed with breakfast though, those times it was bagel + fried egg with coffee, maybe a pastry.
DrOct (219 D(B))

Sadly most mornings I only have time to make a peanut butter sandwich (sometimes on toast) for breakfast that I eat after getting to the office. I'd love to get up early enough to make a for real breakfast as breakfast foods are some of my favorite, but I'm just not a morning person and it's hard enough for me to get up as it is.

On weekends my wife and I have bagels and cream cheese (usually with fresh basil from our indoor garden, and in the summer tomatoes), and some sort of egg (usually fried and runny, but we switch it up sometimes). She has coffee and I have tea of some sort. It's a nice two day a week time to always spend together (we certainly spend other time together but that's a sort of semi-sacred time for us that we know we'll have together. We try to keep to it whenever possible, only skipping it when we have something unusual going on).

DrOct, if you have time the night before, most of my favorite breakfast items can be prepped before you brush your teeth and just popped in the oven in the morning whilst you make coffee and shower.

MrBreakfast.com is great for those recipes, but I can share some of my favourite night-prep morning-bakes if you'd like.

I eat my breakfast late at night. Bacon, a couple of over-easy eggs, toast with butter, a bowl of cereal.

I never actually wake up early enough to eat breakfast. Today I woke up at 2 pm and ate a couple of Jamaican beef patties. =D

8 belgian waffles in the morning for me. Drizzled in butter and pure maple syrup with a quart of milk and a pint of orange juice.
Sadly I don't get to eat this often, but it kicks ass when I do get to eat it:]

Weight is irrelevent. I hope you don't have a history of diabetes in your family because the milk and OJ alone is more sugar than you should consume in a single meal, and that meal has enough sugar for TWO days in it. Ad in the fat of the waffles, butter, and milk... You'll be lucky to reach 40 eating like that on the weekends only, dude.

When I was in high school, I was 5 11 and weighed about 130. I'd eat 2 triple whoppers for lunch on Saturday (or a whole large LaRosa's deluxe pizza) with a large fries (or an order garlic bread with cheese) and a large Coke. Now I'm 43, 5 11, and 240 ish with a peak in my life of nearly 320. You can't have a diet like that for too long or you'll get VERY heavy and maybe even become a diabetic. I know cause I've been there (VERY heavy, still a bit heavy) and I am a diabetic. Trust me, it's no fun.
vamosrammstein (757 D(B))
21 Oct 09 UTC
My point was that being a young and in shape kid, I rarely eat that unhealthily, so its a rare treat for me. All I drink throughout the day is water, so the milk and OJ is solely a breakfast thing. As for the fat and other goodies in that "meal" I ensure that I go out and do something to get rid of it constantly. Haven't had that in a while actually because I'm back in school, and I now have to do things besides excercise:[

I still eat that type of meal though, but during school its closer to 4-6 belgian waffles, same butter and syrup, but only a pint of milk.

I hate when my metabolism slows down once it gets cold.

Chrispminis (916 D)

Jesus Draugnar, if you weighed only 130 lbs at 5'11, I probably would have prescribed you a diet of triple whoppers too. =P

Where the hell was that energy going? Were you powering a small aircraft?

Being a teenager shoots your metabolism through the roof more often than it doesn't.

DJEcc24 - As for eating just a granola bar, I really don't see how you can do that. Don't you want to start ripping limbs off of people halfway to lunch if you don't eat a big breakfast?
