I think sex is an important part of a healthy relationship

sex and love are different things, but when they are combined I think they compliment each other quite well

I think sex here in america is too taboo, peopel seem afraid to disscuss it, its terrible. not to mention people have no problem showing kids horredusly violent war movies, but a nipple will scar them for life? come on.

I was once in a game with Edi and I remember seeing one of his Videos that said anything goes in Diplomacy including offering sexual favours. I thought I'd put this to the test so sent Edi a 'price list' as it were. For a little advice he could kiss my wife, for support against a third party he could have a quick grope, etc.... Anyway Edi ended up vacating his capital and telling everybody else that played that he would rip their heads off if they so much as thought about halting my steady advance on the solo win. I then thought I ought to send Edi some pictures of my wife to seal the deal as it were. Edi never spoke to me again and he had the whole board gamg up on me - i was finished by Spring 1902.

Can we abandon this thread? I know that by posting I'm contributing to it staying alive, but it's not been that long since the last post, so it wouldn't make too much difference. The reason I ask is that there are a fair number of minors on this site, and while it probably won't make a difference to the 16- and 17- year olds, I seem to remember previous threads where there were people 13 and under. It would be a shame if (for instance) parents blocked their kids from playing on this website because of forum posts that have nothing to do with diplomacy.

(Not that I disapprove of all forum posts that aren't diplomacy-related; it's just that this is a topic that many parents might not be happy with. Perhaps one can reasonably discuss sex with a 12-year-old, and Americans should talk about it more, but that's a decision we could leave to parents, isn't it? And things like "favorite sexual experience" could get fairly graphic.)

And if anyone's interested: I'm 26, and don't have any children.

I've thougth about sex, and most of my friends are already 10 million miles ahead of me. But I'm thinking, prego+stds = bad? Whats the risk, also I like the longer term relationships whilst most of my friends just go out with girls for say a month to get in yonder pants.

I would like to implore one of the moderators to remove this thread. I would hate one of my kids to come across a thread like this when they are suppose to be playing a harmless board game. First of all I do not know any of you, and I can say that I would not want any of you influencing my child with your standards or lack thereof. So moderators please remove or you have lost a family of players.

The objections to this thread are a perfect example of how we don't mind kids thinking about violence but we hate their thinking about sex. We're pretending to fight World War I here, but we can't have a mature discussion about sex?

Is a blatant lie, or at best uninformed- i would have said it was massively informed, you think talking about sex shows a lack of standards i say sort yourself out sex has been around forever its not going anywhere, its fun and there is nothing wrong with it in the slightest and if your not teaching your children this in m eyes your failing as a parent

You state that this conversation is inappropriate because you do not want any of us to influence your child with our standards or lack thereof... then you immediately weigh in with your opinion about condoms... which is equally likely to influence a child with your standards or lack thereof. We could get into a debate on the statistics involved with availability of birth control devices, spread of STDs and pregnancies... and the data would be on Xapi's (and my) side. Barring such a debate on human behavior and public policy (which there would be no reason to shield a teen from)... I agree however with you that more crude conversation (for example trading sexual favors for Diplomacy moves) should find a better venue.

Well honestly, I could care less abour reigous laws (I go to chrcuh twice a week but I don't apply it), I just think of it on the emotional level. Since I'm the kind of person who lives for moments that are memrable not just for the short pleasure. Ie a romntic. I haven't even kissed a girl yet because I haven't found the perfect place. I have a few ideas on how I want it, so I can rember it forever. but anyway, same goes for sex, to me thats something special and I'd rather have my first time with ym soul mate who I'm going to be with forever so I am prolly gunna wait, but I have never really had the opputinity presented to me before so its pretty easy to say that :P (lol soon maybe though, I'm talking to about 4 different girls to see who I want to go after)

Did any parents ask the Mods to remove the thread about Sicarius knifing a cop? I'd be a lot more worried about my kids reading that than this...

He didn't actually knife the cop dummy =P, he got accused of it but was able to show through the justice system that he was innocent and that the cop had lied.

My point was, there are a number of questionable threads on this site. Singly out the one one sex seems awfully foolish and narrow minded to me.

Toby makes a great point. This is WWI here. Whatever teen is being exposed to the realities of war, lying and betrayal here can certainly also handle conversation about sex and it's roles in love and in society. ...or should be able to. There is something seriously wrong with our society (in America at least) that consistently freaks about sex, but is fine with all forms of violence.

I think that's great. What I meant to say is that there are ways to prevent STDs and unwanted pregnancies, since you implied that that was your biggest concern.
