Seeking player for Argentina in UN roleplaying game!!
You want a different dip? You like the diplomatic part of diplomacy? Argentina's president is sleeping, and if he/she doesn't wake up there'll be a spot open. Then maybe this game is or you. The main thing is to be active in he global forum in a very slow world game.

JDip on Windows 10
I tried to install JDip the other day but I couldn't get it to work on Windows 10. It used to work on Windows 7 I think (unless I am thinking of XP).
Anybody had any luck getting JDip to work on Windows 10?

vDiplomacy Features
I have just started playing Diplomacy at vDiplomacy, and I must say I have been pleasantly surprised by a number of vDiplomacy innovations that don't appear to be available on webdiplomacy. Are there plans to introduce some of the same features here?

Actually can I get points commesurate with how many games i've played?

I would like 1000 web dip points. Since I play a lot and I am a colorful webdip character. I lack enough points to even join games, I had to contemplate joining a game with rondo earlier thats how bad this is getting.

If we defeat you, but then stall out the game does it keep your points locked up? I honestly can't remember if that would work.

Just like in poker, the profits of the mediocre and skilled are funded by lots of fish who lose almost everything they put in. The difference is that the site tops you off without you having to pay. If you would prefer to pay for privileges, there's always playdip.

start a vDip account. could compensate for the lapse in play here. atleast until you can manage to win a game here.

you could always play against yourself by using backstabbr.com or an actual diplomacy board. Oh or just enjoy the game through a surrogate like a youtube channel discussing diplomacy games.

Of course the idea is to lock up all his points as he uses them so eventually every single point he has is in games where he has one sc. ( if you eliminate him he gets refunds immediately)

Yes, the site will give points as you win or draw games.

This blighter will never learn the values of thrift and hard work if he is continually bailed out of his bankruptcy. He just casually asks for a thousand points with a Pollyanna like sense of entitlement, there's no offer to work and earn his points by washing Zultar's car, or mowing his lawns etc.
This is not some utopian fantasy full of heathen communists with no respect for the property rights of existing points holders.
When I was a lad we had to get up an hour before we went to bed, work double shift at pit, come home, milk cows, muck out stables, then lick road clean with tongue, just to earn a few diplomacy points, and Dad would beat us to death with a broken beer bottle. And that were luxury, and we knew the value of a few diplomacy points, and we were happy with simple pleasures.
Nowadays, the young are all playin' on faceblah, twittering nonsense with maxed out credit cards, and constantly humbugging hardworking Mighty Mods for another points bail out.
Where's this blighters Austerity package ? What self discipline does he propose...nothing..just more reckless expenditures in gunboats and other indulgences.

The correct word is "commensurate" not " commesurate"
He hasn't applied himself to his mathematics or his grammar studies with enough determination. He should be made to work for his welfare bail out and get a proper Christian hair cut.....

Ask SplitDiplomat to donate some points to your cause, brainbomb. I'm sure the invisible hand theory that he is compelled to follow in a capitalist system such as webdip would prompt him to give you some.

Now that's better. Purchasing the forgiveness of sins depends on the business practices of the specific Church with which you make these Faustian arrangements. There are countless precedents in most Churches and religions. Consult your nearest Church, but get a few competitive quotations if you like.

I think Adam Smith's " invisible hand" if it has any sense of profit and loss will give this blighter a clip behind the ears rather than a pat on the back and a handout

The upper 1% of webdip have more points than 80,000 brainbombs combined. What we need is a political webdip revolution to overthrow the points barons and restore a functioning webdip economy!

Webdip Feature Request: Donations allow you to purchase Copper, Silver, Gold, and Platinum points packs of 25-50-100-and-500 web dip points.

Webdip Feature Request 2: There be monthly free points giveaways like Zultar did near christmas to one lucky webdipper worth 500 webdip points, 250, and 100 free points for 3rd place.

Webdip Feature Request 3: Members be allowed to buy someone in to a game if they cannot afford to enter it.

Webdip Feature Request 4: We set up a game for all the players with 0 D or less than 5 on webdip and the winner gets 25,000 webdiplomacy points.

Points in play calculation
All,

I have read the FAQ, but it seems to state that your points in play are the sum of point that you *bet*. Mine seem to exceed that, but may be correct if they are the "current value" rather than the "bet." I could do some tedious counting, but I imagine that most of the people here know, so please pardon the "lazy ask" of someone new to this site, but a long-term Dip player.

Anyone here tried Subterfuge?
Its an iOS/Droid game similar to Neptune's Pride somewhat. Slow Realtime where movement takes hours to days to resolve, no RNG, and based on the Diplomacy tradition of deception and alliances. The key difference to Pride is a toroidal map and a different win condition. Anyone else given it a go?

When does a draw occur? As soon as all players vote for draw...or when all players have voted for draw and the next turn is adjudicated? I ask because I am in a game where the draw votes are hidden.

spectating games
Is there a way to see the global chat in a game your not in? it wouldn't make it so that you could tell someone something they wouldn't have known otherwise like showing private messages would do. I'm just wondering if there is a specific reason why you can't.
