Best Show on TV Right Now?
Okay, so recently I have been watching the show Person of Interest (It's on CBS) and I have to tell you, it is amazing. The characters are fleshed out, it has an amazing mythology and it shows an amazing spin on our age of surveillance. To me, it may be the best show on TV right now. If you;ve seen it, do you agree? And regardless, what do you think is the best show on TV right now?

Downton Abbey is the only show my gf and I watch on TV proper.

I openly acknowledge that Castle is a terrible, clichéd show, but I love it anyway.

Sherlock is a favorite of mine but they take so long between productions. Bones is a great show too.

The best show has to go to Family Guy
but if you're looking for plot, Person of Interest is pretty cool.
@Yoyo: Family Guy isn't even the best animated sitcom on tv, much less the best show.

Family Guy isn't even the best animated show on Fox.

I'll never like a show more than South Park.

Don't know about best, but The Walking Dead is my favorite show on right now.

What is? God if you say Bob's Burgers, I will karate chop you in the nose.
I'll take South Park as an answer though but they are on Comedy Central. Family is by for the best animated show on Fox. Now that I think of it, South Park is better than Family Guy, but only marginally.

I <3 Bob's Burgers.
Haven't seen Bob's Burgers, and if you excluded South Park, from what I've heard, Adventure Time you have a good case.

American pickers, dines,drive-ins and dives--- basically anything on the history or discovery channel.

Modern family, Big Bang theory

Shark tank.

I fucking love adventure time. It has a plot, but its really REALLY slow paced and laid back. Its good if you're a kid like me :)
Eh, I find that the "History" and Discovery Channels have seriously waned in quality over the years. Science channel and BBC America are really good though.

i will not be accepting adventure time. that show is the bane of my existence.

Right now (as in they are on air right now (ie. this week))? I cannot recall anything too remarkable for me, but if I had to name one it would be The Mentalist. Or South Park. Or Top Gear.

ive seen about 6 adventure tie episodes, the first one ever a long time ago (which wasnt too bad but i didnt keep up with the show) and people i knew started screaming about how they loved it. i watched a few more, attempted suicide, completed a homicide, planned a genocide (speaking of which how many people on this site are jewish- im just asking for... record keeping), then stopped watching

top shot (only ever saw season 1) was a good show, but they should have done the more exotic weapons last, and started with the basics.

Some of the better shows on TV in no particular order are Person of Interest, The Librarians, The Big Bang Theory, Sherlock, Gotham, and Castle.

Only Connect is a bit of fun, and Bluestone 42 is excellent. The best thing over the past few weeks though has to have been the final episodes of Cabin Pressure. Benedict Cumberbatch's finest performance.

Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are easily the best shows on tv these days, but not too far behind are Modern Family, Parks and Recreation, Homeland, and Sherlock.

ITT: nobody watches good TV shows on WebDip.

Best shows on right now:

Broadchurch
Nathan For You
Maron
Homeland
Louie
Veep

Fargo was the best show of the year hands down. Can't wait for the next installment, assuming they do a season 2.

+1 Nathan for You.

I've always wondered who the people were in the world that watch all of the serial CBS shows- I guess now I know. And I tried Big Bang Theory- it's insufferable.

I don't know if The Office still airs, but I loved it when I watched it.
Until Michael Scott left.

I honestly don't watch too many TV shows, but I've recently started watching Community, and it's great.

I know this is about "right now," but I'll give a shout-out to Seinfeld, probably the greatest comedic show of all time.

I have a better question: which shows from ten (or more) years ago have withstood the test of time and can still be called great?
@Tolstoy: Batman: The Animated Series

So through your system of spies and side alliances and general instinctiveness you get a pretty good indication that your ally is about to stab you. What go-to strategy do you generally like to employ?

I'm happy to make a new one if anyone is interested. The old one seems pretty dead.

Who Will Be Remembered?
Recent article on an interesting site: http://waitbutwhy.com/table/modern-era-will-universally-known-year-4015
Between that and our current "Greatest Person in History" tournamet, I'm really interested in the legacy of our era, and the people from it. So, who from our modern era (1700s - 2000s) do you think will still be remembered 2000 years from now? And what do you think our generation (if remembered) will be known for?

I think some of those examples are good, some flawed...but it's definitely an idea worth discussing and hashing out, so, discuss.

Diplomacy Air Force Unit
Wouldn't it be an interesting shakeup to add an air force unit to Diplomacy? It seems that it would add more realism to the game. Potentially, it could cost 2 build units and fly over any territory just like any other unit, but not occupy it. Therefore, you could have a fleet and an air unit in the same space. It wouldn't be able to take territory, only support other units. Additionally, it could support hold the territory it flies over, but not actually defend the territory.
