2014 Webdiplomacy Tournament Replacement Player Needed
Board 4 is absent one player for the tournament. I am looking for someone interested in joining the tournament. Priority is given to players that can pay the $10 buy-in with emphasis on reliable players. If none are forthcoming, I would accept any reliable player. DO NOT POST HERE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. Message me privately since this is anonymous and you will be revealed after this board has completed.

This is worse than the Ferguson case. Pathetic.

'Twas the week before finals...
...and all through the town, not a fuck could be given, not a fuck could be found.

In order to distract me from my impending doom and the numerous professors attempting to dismantle my life in a single blow, who thinks they have the best not-giving-a-shit-about-finals story?

New server features
You may notice some new features here and there. Including a move preview button :)

You may need to refresh your browser to get move previews to work.

I've tested it out extensively for the last two hours and I can say with high confidence that the "preview" and "latest turn" buttons are too close to each other. Can we have them separated by a couple more millimeters please?

3 cheers for ATC! Thank you so much for all the hard work that goes into this!! This is great - it works perfectly!!
I think the next step sometime in the future should be to incorporate some sort of simulation option to preview resolved outcomes based on your orders and assumed orders of other countries too.

Also - what are the other new features other than the move preview button??
A_Tin_Can (2234 D)
05 Dec 14 UTC
Nothing quite as big as move preview - there are a few behind the scenes changes, a couple of cryptic error messages are no longer cryptic, there are now confirmations to votes/mute (so accidental draws or mutes can't happen- you no longer need to worry about playing drunkenly on your phone). And we've fixed the destroy ordering bug on NMR.

What about accidentally moving to the English Channel? Has that been fixed? ;)

Given that I'm yet to play you, Tas, it's good to know ahead of time that you have been experiencing this issue :)

Great feature that preview button... but you should probably fix that bug where it shows units that were destroyed in the previous adjustment phase as still being on the board.

And, with this feature, the old excuse of "Oh, entered my orders wrong" after a subtle backstab shall be obsolete. Thank you from those who may well actually enter the orders wrong anyway. It also looks pretty good. Also, what oscar said.

Cool feature, thanks. I also noticed the bug Oscar mentioned. Seems to reflect builds accurately in preview but does not remove recently disbanded units.

Did you look into the save button order update issue?
ghug (5068 D(B))

I think that's a symptom of the server time issues, not a bug per se.

@A_Tin_Can, I also like the change that games start at set time now, instead of when game fills. This should help so players don't NMR in Spring1901. Nicely done.

Is that just for live/short phase games? (i.e. do longer phase games start when filled?)
ghug (5068 D(B))

As far as I know, no change was made there. Live games always start at their set times, and long-phase games always start when full.

After the builds phase, when an army is destroyed, it pops up again when I use preveiw. I'm not sure if this is a bug but it might cause an issue if I wanted to move into the space where the army was destroyed.

Fleet Moscow
Why can I not build a fleet in Moscow? It borders the Caspian and could be used in an attack against Turkey. I realise that there is a rule saying that units can't moved to unnamed spaces on the board, like Ireland, but why not move down the coast to Sevastopol and then to Armenia? This wouldn't be a useful move, but should it be allowed according to the rules?

2014 Webdiplomacy Tournament Update
Round 1 has completed and I have updated the standings of each player in the game. In addition, I have sent out the next wave of passwords for round 2's games to those individuals responsible for creating boards 4, 5 and 6 of the tournament. Congratulations to those topping their respective boards! I have also included the scoring updates in greater detail below.

Discount for taking over left position
Is it still under consideration to allow people to take of left positions for half price? This could encourage a lot more players to join games in progress. The pot has already been paid, so it's bonus money for the current players, and incentive to come in at a disadvantage (often).
