FORMAT
------------------
The tournament will consistent of 3 rounds plus qualification "play-ins" as needed. The 3 rounds of the tournament will be in a single elimination bracket format. Qualifying players will initially be split into 4 groups where the top 3 from each group will qualify for the next round with an additional wild-card spot to the highest scoring 4th place finishers between the two group.
QUALIFICATION
--------------------------
There will be 28 spots in the final 3 rounds of play. These spots will be determined as follows:
- Past winners have a lifetime exemption
- Any players in the top 50 on the all-time Gunboat Ghost Ratings List
- 10 spots to the top Gunboat Ghosted Rated players on the sign-up sheet who do not qualify above
- Remaining spots earned from play-ins games
Each player will participate in 2-4 play in games depending on the number of players involved.
Each player will be required to pay an entry fee of 50
for their spot in the final three rounds.
SCORING

Rounds 1, 2 & the play-ins will be scored as follows:
- 13
for a solo victory
- 12 / n where n is the number of players in a draw for all draws particpated in
- no point awarded to defeats and survives
Final Round will be scored as follows:
- 1 point awarded for a solo victory
- no points awarded for draws, survives or defeats
Tiebreakers in rounds 1, 2 and the play ins will be in order of:
i - number of solo victories
ii - number of draws
iii - number of survives
iv - aggregate number of centres owned at the end of each game in that round
Tiebreakers in the finals will be as follows:
i - aggregate number of centres owned at the end of each game in that round
ii - number of draws
iii - number of survives
PRIZES
------------

to the winner of the tournament

for each solo victory in the tournament.
The total guaranteed prizes are 5,000
. Of this, 1,250 is being contributed by participants, the remainder is site-sponsored.
GAME FORMATS

All games will be WTA, anonymous, no in-game messaging, 36 hour phases and wait-for-orders. The buy-in for each game will be the site minimum of 5
.
A special rule that no voting anything other than draw is premitted in these games.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THOSE RUNNING THE TOURNAMENT

The tournament will be coordinated by myself and y2kjbk. The mods will be working in conjunction with the two of us to ensure this tournament runs smoothly and to maintain and enforce sit rules.
The co-ordinators will be responsible for overseeing the tournament, ensuring games are created and started in a timely fashion, tracking scores and standings and to mediate issues that may arise. The coordinators will also be responsible for handling pauses and player replacements if needed. See more details on this below.
The mods will continue to have their same responsibilities they have on the site, and will be engaged to mediate as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTICIPANTS

It is your responsibility to have read this entire post, to know and be familiar with the site rules and the special rule as noted above.
By signing up for this tournament you are acknowledging your commitment to play in each round until the end or you are defeated. The tournament will take a significant amount of the year. While unforeseen circumstances do arise, players are expected to honour their commitment. If continuing to play becomes impossible, it is your responsibility to contact the moderators.
Pauses will be allowed when needed if reasonable. Please let the coordinators know of any needed pauses as soon as you are aware. Please be reasonable with pause requests.
PLAYER CONCERNS

By participating in this tournament you agree to email the moderator team at
[email protected] with your concern. They will work with the tournament directors to quickly resolve any problems or concerns. Forum posts about the tournament games in this tournament will result in the following reprimands.
First time offenders will be silenced for 24 hours. Second time offenders will be silenced until that round of the tournament is completed. Third time offenders will be removed from the tournament and/or face a point dock for violation of gunboat press rules.
Scoring updates will allowed at the Tournament Directors discretion and will not be considered a violation press restrictions.
