Evolution is not selfish
Something I've been saying for years; nature rewards the co-operative. Not co-operative in that "I want to get laid and the best way to do that is by being co-operative", but proper altruistic natural instincts.

From Wikipedia's page titled "War on Women":

"War on Women is an expression in United States politics, primarily used to describe Republican Party initiatives in federal and state legislatures that restrict women's rights, especially reproductive rights. Prominent Democrats and feminists have used the phrase to criticize conservative actions as trying to force their social views and religious beliefs on a general public by legal legislation. Additional uses refer to legislative initiatives regarding the following: access to reproductive health services, particularly birth control and abortion services; how violence against women is prosecuted; how rape is defined for purposes of public funding of abortion for rape victims; how workplace discrimination against women is treated; and litigation concerning equal pay for women. The term is often used when targeting policies that reduce or eliminate taxpayer funding for women's health organizations, like Planned Parenthood. Other areas of concern include public funding and mandatory employer insurance coverage of such matters as contraception and sterilization."

Whatever Wikipedia says goes.

Don't fear the truth, bo. When you first open your eyes, it might sting a little bit, but you'll adjust. Some nice logical conservative will hold your hand and help dispel the media myths you have so emotionally embraced in defiance of logic and facts, and you will learn to embrace logic and clear thought.

Well, sad as it may be, there are a hell of a lot of babies growing up right now krellin that are going to control the political spectrum when you are wearing diapers, so shut up and respect us or we'll became ultra-Obama and make you sleep in tents in the middle of Sacramento because there's just not enough money to go around for the middle class.

Err, never mind, that already happens.

Maybe instead of playing political football about which party machine is worse, work on changing the sexist society around you.

The sexism transcends left-right dichotomies.

(One would do well to note however that this does not mean there are not sexist legislative proposals, especially at the state level.... ahem Texas)

Moron....MORON....***MORON***....This is an identified problem in a specific group of people...Democrat party office holders. Republicans *DO* broom out the dirt when shit like this erupts. Democrats are either silent or circle the wagons of defense, dickwad.

Quit protecting your precious party...and CALL YOUR LEADERSHIP and demand they speak out against this abuse of women.

I *AM* trying to make a change...I'm bringing to light to all your googly-eyed Democrats that your party is rotten with women-haters...I'm trying to break the whole lot of your of your brain-washed beliefs that you are so perfect.

Funny, thucy, you never have a problem calling out Republicans...but when your own kind are identified as planting one foot deep in the doo doo...suddenly it's an "everyone" problem.

Fuck off and strap on a pair, big boy, and admit the problem.

I'll repeat - the Repubican party **openly calls for the removal** of their own kind when they get involved with shit like this. The Democrats are SILENT. This is NOT an everyone problem...this is a DEMOCRAT problem, big boy.
steephie22 (182 D(S))

Hitler rules Germany -- so, what, he was right and good for the people while in power?

This *moronic* notion that "He's in power...he must be good" to defend the Democrats is rather pathetic.

A young girl that is abused and raped by her father might very well police that she loves him...does that mean Daddy rapist should be let free?

Get a grip, man....the majority of Americans don't even know what the hell is going on in their country, let alone WHO their politicians are. They go it eh booth and they vote "D" because that's what they do.

You really think the American pubic approve of their politicians?

Then I will remind you that Republicans own the House...so I guess a majority of the public loves them some Republicans...

All I'm saying is that if the ruler of your nation is a problem, it's not a problem of it's party, it's a problem of the nation. It's just partly the fault of the ruler and part.
krellin (80 DX)
01 Aug 13 UTC
I understand your point...agree in part, disagree in part. Ask any typical left-wing voter and they'll tell you Obama is all about supporting women. Ask them what he's DONE for women, they'll stare at you blankly. Ask them why he won't speak out against all the perverts in his party, they'll blame Fox News...

Yeah...the American people, as a collective, are ill-informed blithering idiots.

That being said, our elected officials are *supposed* to be smarter and better than us and protect us, are they not? Though the American people are a failure collectively - this I will not disagree with at all, and I look at both parties (Boehner? Seriosuly? Someone shoot that guy...)...The politicians are more at fault because they constantly lie, act the role of hypocrite, and only function when a donation check is in hand. Thus, they *talk* about women’s issues…but don’t solve them (why solve them? Then you don’t have an issue to campaign about and collect donations to solve…) They talk about immigration….they TALK about debt…they TALK….but they don’t solve, because then they lose the issue, lose the campaign contributions….so I hold the politicians primarily at fault.

And…by the way…Democrats HATE Women..

Well, here's the thing, Krellin. Of the three people mentioned in the article (Spitzer, Weiner, and Filner) only one (Filner) currently holds office of any type, and it's municipal office in San Diego. Weiner and Spitzer, both of whom *were* indeed pressured by their parties into resigning statewide office, are now merely candidates in municipal elections. Spitzer's not even running for mayor, only for city comptroller. And Weiner is getting pressured to drop out of his race.
So why isn't there an outcry about these guys? Because they're already disgraced, marginal politicians, largely outcasts within their own parties, who have been reduced to citywide races. Why aren't we throwing the bums out? Because we already did.

Hello hecks!

Not exactly new to the site, but I haven't seen you too much on the forums...

All the same--don't you know you're in a debate with krellin?

Reasoned points and rationalized opinions don't mean diddly!
krellin's already won every single argument he's ever had...
He wins the argument in his head before he even begins, you see--
So you're being far, far too reasonable and logical with your response.

An understandable mistake.

Here, let me show you the proper way to argue krellin style:

FUCK OBAMA FUCK HILLARY FUCK JON STEWART FUCK DEMOCRATS

TRUTH TRUTH TRUTH TRUTH I'VE GOT THE TRUTH LISTEN TO ME...

FUUUUUUUUUUUCK OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <--TRUUUUUTH!!!!!

Well, in fairness, that's a bit more reserved and reasonable than most debates involving krellin, but still...

@Obi,
I've been around the forums for a while, but I made an Independence Day resolution to avoid the political threads. They're not good for my blood pressure.

And don't you know you can't out-Krellin a Krellin? If you talk to him reasonably, he'll sometimes drop his bluster and make his points in a calm, rational manner. Even less frequently, he sometimes actually listens to what you're saying. When he drops the bluster, he's really just a big old cuddly Krellie-Wellie.

Oh, I don't mean to out-krellin a krellin...

That's like out-mapleleafing mapleleaf...

And anyway, it's OK that krellin's so blustery...

If he's FUCK OBAMA FUCK OBAMA FUCK OBAMA...

As for who is and is not in office any more...irrelevant...when they were in office doing bad things, the party was SILENT. That is the point.

Republicans clean their own house. Democrats sit silent and eventually, maybe, let the media do it....though Rapist Clinton was covered by the Dome of Media Protection that would have made Stephen King proud...

@Krellin,
"As for who is and is not in office any more...irrelevant...when they were in office doing bad things, the party was SILENT. That is the point."

Given that even your own article concedes that Nancy Pelosi has publicly called for Weiner to withdraw, I doubt your assertion that the party was silent when Weiner and Spitzer were in office. I don't have evidence to back up my doubt at this time, but I shall endeavor to collect some.
krellin (80 DX)
01 Aug 13 UTC
Pelosi...OK...that's. (Using my abacus....verifying math.....). ONE outspoken Democrat....female at that.

Let this same thing occur with racism in the office And the entire party would be marching.

Just man the fuck up...admit Democrats are weak on protecting women in the work place. They have been ever since Clinton. made a mockery of sexual harassment.
hecks (164 D)
01 Aug 13 UTC
Well, that's what I'm saying... I'll look and see if I can find some more examples and make you put that abacus to better use.

I'm also curious about your assertion that Republicans always take care of this thing within their own ranks. Might you provide a few examples for my consideration? I'm not rejecting your idea that the Republicans are better about this sort of thing, but I'm sure you'll appreciate a healthy dose of skepticism that demands examples.

Clinton... yeah... he did a lot of good things, but it'd be hard to argue that that wasn't sexual harassment. Your reference to Rapist Clinton is hyperbolic, but there are certainly lots of people in the business world who have been fired for less.

Interestingly, the Republicans definitely have done a better job fostering women in high-profile national positions over the last 20 years or so. Palin, Bachmann, Rice, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins (okay, yeah, I'm from Maine, so I overestimate their importance, but still...), the Republicans seem to put more women "out there" for the party. The Dems have Pelosi and Clinton, but after that the field gets really thin really fast. I tend to see that more as a Democratic failing than a Republican strength, but still, it's worthy of note.
hecks (164 D)
01 Aug 13 UTC
A quick search shows a list of Congressional Democrats who called for Anthony Weiner to resign: Allyson Schwartz - PA, Joe Donnely - IN, Niki Tsongas - MA, Mike Ross - Ark, Larry Kissel - NC, Mike Michaud - ME, along with Senators Mark Pryor - AR and Patrick Leahy - VT, and former DNC Chairman Tim Kaine. Lots more called for an ethics investigation into his actions. So I think that's no small group.

You're right that there wasn't a huge call for Spitzer to resign, but that has to have something to do with the fact that less than two days passed between when the NY Times broke the story on 3/10/08, when his aides announced the next day that he was considering resignation, and Spitzer's announcement of his resignation on 3/12/08. There simply wasn't much time for people to call for resignation before he actually did it.
hecks (164 D)
01 Aug 13 UTC
Oh, hey, a few more democrats who called for Weiner to resign back in '11" Carolyn McCarthy - NY, Nancy Pelosi - CA, Sander Levin - MI, and Chris van Hollen - MD. And DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and DCCC Chair Steve Israel. Even Obama said, "I can tell you that if that was me, I would resign."

So yeah... I don't think you can fairly characterize that as silence.
hecks (164 D)
01 Aug 13 UTC
Oh, and look who has called for Filner to resign - Pelosi, Wasserman-Schultz, the San Diego County Democratic Party (remember, he is the mayor of San Diego), Diane Feinstein... basically any Democrat who has anything to do with Southern California Politics.
krellin (80 DX)
01 Aug 13 UTC
.....and *this* I why I should be a political activist.

Over the course of a few threads recently I have managed to put Democrats on the defense defending their party, etc, by using their own accusations against them, whereas typically it is Republicans on the defensive. How do I get the RNC to read Web Dip? lol

anyway, Heck, Bill Cinton was accused of rape, and the woman making the accusation was SO brutalized by the press, the Clinton War Machine (read the Ragin’ Cajun, James Carvil) that she was forced to go away under a shroud of shame….yeah, way to treat women fairly, Mr. Rapist Clinton…sorry, but Clinton is a womanizing douchebag.

Republicans are far better at calling for the removal of their aberrant members…it’s typically because Republicans hold to a different (I didn’t say better) moral standard, which is against having affairs, homosexuality, etc, whereas the Democrat party has always been more accepting. By (once) being the party of the Christian right, the R’s were forced to clean house by their electorate. Hell, the Democrats hav even defended dumbasses like the joker that had tens of thousands of dollars stuffed in his office freezer..their record for internal housecleaning SUCKS…period.

As for R’s being better about promoting women…AND minorities…this is no surprise to Republicans and NOT interesting at all. R’s….I should say Conservatives..BELIEVE in equal opportunity…we don’t just mouth the words like Democrats. If it weren’t for the Republican party, Women’s Suffrage and the Civil Rights act would not have passed…yes, R’s have an outstanding record on women’s and racial issues…despite media coverage assertions to the contrary that the sheeple of America eat up hook line and sinker (sorry…mixed metaphor….farm animals and fish…)

Honestly, yes, Dem’s clean house *on occasion* too…but nearly as loudly, and not from the top. But it’s fun to put Holier-than-Thou Dems on the defensive and watch just how disingenuous most of them are…
