04 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2011: [Brazil]:Hey folks, I'm taking a trip to this weekend to a place that has no cell service and no internet. I'll be back online Sunday evening (US Eastern time). If we could pause the game for two days starting after the builds go through today, I would really appreciate it
04 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2011: [Western-Canada]:Sounds good to me
04 Jun 21 UTC Spring, 2012: [Pacific-Russia]:Okay
06 Jun 21 UTC Spring, 2012: [Brazil]:Ok I'm back in town. Thanks for accommodating me here. I'm ready to get this going again when everyone else is
12 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2012: [Argentina]:Alright my turn, I’ll be gone for about a week and definitely won’t be able to keep up, if I could get a pause vote it’d be greatly appreciated
12 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2012: [Kenya]:Why not just draw the game at this point?
13 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2012: [Argentina]:I’m still hungry
13 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2012: [Brazil]:I’ll argue both sides

Draw: We’re at a point in the game where the end result is inevitable. Unless I’m missing something, there doesn’t seem to be any cracks in the B / A / WC alliance, and we’ll continue to roll through Africa & Asia until the three of us own all the centers. This is tiresome for the other players, who have to play out the losing position for another few weeks. So, out of consideration for the other players, why not just draw knowing that the game is won? Yes, the other players walk away with a draw as well as some points instead of a loss, but at the end of the day do people really care about win rates and point totals?

Don’t draw: Without getting too far into the debate around winning vs drawing and the additional layer of SoS vs draw-size scoring, there’s a question of game integrity here. Insofar as point score matters, the three of us in the alliance mentioned above have an incentive to play out the position to the end and then figure out where to go from there. Similarly, the site has a feature that tracks draws / wins / losses, and to end the game before the inevitable conclusion would be to mess with those statistics (again, I acknowledge that this matters to varying degrees for each individual, and not that much in the macro sense). We also have the incentive to play out the position for the satisfaction of seeing through our long-term plan, though I acknowledge this to be subjective and I don’t know if Argentina and / or WC are motivated by this.

I personally don’t care much about the points, so I’ll put in my vote for the draw and leave it up to the other two.

China, India, PR, we haven’t talked much throughout the game. Do you have any strong opinions about this?
13 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2012: [Pacific-Russia]:I'm just bored about this game so, I want to put an end
13 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2012: [Western-Canada]:I’ll throw a draw in with the knowledge that we would have won the game :)
13 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2012: [India]:same here as PR
14 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2012: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
14 Jun 21 UTC Autumn, 2012: [China]:Long ago I voted for both the draw and the Cancel. I just want it to end either way. With so many missed turns I lost the will to play a long time ago.
16 Jun 21 UTC Spring, 2013: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.
