02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: good luck |
02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Egypt, truce? Neither of us will pass Sinai until Greece an Carthage are destroyed? (I will not contest the islands of Crete and Cyprus if you agree) |
02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Egypt--Persia's offer seems... too good to be true. He wants you to give him three easy SC's in exchange for two hard-to-defend island SC's that will be contested by Greece. And then the ominous condition, "none will pass Sinai UNTIL" ... leaves him in a better position. Sinai is a defensive bottleneck that will be easier for him to cross than you. Just sayin'. I'll propose a simple deal: We'll draw a line between Cyrene and Leptis. Fighting in the desert is a pretty large commitment, one that doesn't really benefit either of us. |
02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Rome: Let's not gouge each other's entrails out just yet, and wait to see what everyone else does. I propose that you get Sic and Sar (and Mas of course), I get Sag and Bal. Neither of us enters Tyr or Pun. We could be a pretty scary alliance if it actually works out. |
02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Persia: I must agree with Carthage on this. You do get more Supply Centers, and there is that nagging "until". I propose this deal. You get Cyprus and Tyre, I get Jerusalem and Petra. DMZ Arabia, Nabatea, Syrian Sea and Gulf of Pelusium. And we don't fight for any of the game. This will aid in our trust of each other and our other fronts. Shall we share a goblet of wine in Roma? |
02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Carthage: If you do not want to fight me, I must have Leptis as a token of your good faith. You destroyed your own argument when you said it was stupid if you were not the one doing it. You also betray your mannerisms. I thought the point was to conceal who we are. |
02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Egypt: I'm listening, but I'm not sure I understand you. Cyrene/Leptis is a better boundary than Numidia/Leptis, because it makes it difficult for either of us to cross. Both of us would see an attack coming for a while beforehand. We both benefit off of this deal, unlike the Persian demands: 'Hey, let me have all the lands to get ready to attack you." I'm at least offering SC's... |
02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Persia, wanna be allies? I offer you the following proposition: I take Byzantium and Miletus, while you take Chersonesus and Sinope. Leaving the lands of Sarmatia, Dacia, Bithynia, Galatia, Isauria untouched by our armies. |
02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Carthage: While I agree with you about it being easier to defend, it also means you get more Supply Centers. What else can you give me? Persia: If you accept that deal that Greece just made, you will have no one next to you to fight. Which means you either build a lot of fleets, or you stab one of us. I can tell when people are about to stab me, so I will get to you first. Just attack Greece, and make it easier on both of us. |
02 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Egypt: I can offer a peaceful boundary, guaranteed by both our agreement and the natural layout of the map. Since you're next to three people, and Persia already told you where he's going, that might be worth it. |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Spring, 1: Carthage: I accept. You take Sag and Bal, I take Sar, Sic and Mas. |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: Hm. Persia, it seems you have put in your orders wrong. I advise you retreat your forces. Carthage: I would really like Leptis. If you give it to me, I will gladly help you where my fleet is available. |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: Egypt: While I sympathize with your plight, we both said that Leptis/Cyrene boundary allowed us to trust one another much better. As Persia a) looks aggressive and b) won't have to fend off Greece yet, I'd suggest keeping your enemies on one front only. Bouncing out of Leptis with me isn't a good way to make friends or defend against Persia... |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: I said it was defensible. I also said that I wanted more, as you will have gotten more Supply Centers than me. We could just DMZ Leptis and the rest of africa. I can move my army back if you agree. |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: Greece, I agree to your terms. |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: Why thank you. |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: Egypt: Well DMZing isn't really an option, because one of us needs the build. I guess we'll just have to bounce off of one another endlessly until we're taken out from the other side. Lame. |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: Persia/Greece: You're gentlemen and scholars. |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: You don not want to bounce. I do not want to bounce. Wouldn't it be simpler just to let me have it rather than us both using valuable forces to get nowhere? |
03 Feb 15 UTC | Autumn, 1: I agree that bouncing is bad, which is why YOU should let ME have it. Who decides this tie? The fact that you're going to need your other army to fend off Persia. |
