Cheater???
Everyone resigned, while they're in a good spot. Except England. And he wins while he's the smallest.
Isn't this cheating what's happening here? And all accounts have 100 D, so I think he made all of those to resign them and then win ;O

Kestas or Mods who can tell Kestas - can we get a WTA creation rule change?
This was talked about at length previously and I remember it having widespread support. change the rules so that people with less than 101 pts can also create WTA games. several alternate limitations were suggested that would work: x # of games finished, or only 25% of your points allowed etc.

Great Moments in Diplomacy History
Inside...
rlumley (0 DX)

What moment in your career are you most proud of? I just thought of mine again...

gameID=8234

A solo win as France. After allying with Germany to take out England, we succeeded, and Germany was left with a number of fleets. I told him there was no point in him having any fleets, and we proceeded to spend a couple years with me supporting moves into his fleets to disband them. Once I had complete control of the sea, I stabbed him and went on for the win.

Any other great stories?

id say im rather proud of this one (gameID=9617). not everyday you see a russian tank in spain. but i guess my most distinguished moment would be (gameID=9701) when in year '03 i orchestrated a backstab on russia with england that lead to his immediate death in no time at all. you know a backstab was clever when the guy that got killed by it even compliments you.

That comment was at Rlumley.

Secondly, I found one I like - gameID=7574

Taken over from CD, managed to pull a 17-17 draw. Did that too with England, but with England I won. Never very proud of it, though - Germany kinda... gave it to me, it was weird, all his moves were incredibly lame. Here it is - http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=7069#gamePanel

Jacob's Greatest Hits:

> gameID=7012 Spring 1909 - Convoyed from Marseilles to Spain with support to gain a superior tactical position and effectively stalemate the western mediterranean area. (this was my first WTA game)

> gameID=7079 Fall 1903 - First and only CD takeover. Took over Italy in order to get into the leagues. Italy had only moved in Spring 1901. My first move was to support Rait's army into Trieste ruining his self-standoff and forcing him to build an army instead of a fleet. He wasn't too pleased with me... Also in Fall 1904 I stabbed Ghostie and we proceeded to have pages and pages of Diplomacy after the stab. Probably my favorite back and forth diplomacy that I've had up to this point. I was (and am) very proud to have worked myself into a draw in this game.

> gameID=6160 Spring 1913 I recieve the following messages from Italy: "you should be ashamed to call yourself a christian", "judging by your response and sincere happiness in repeatedly betraying someone who you 'befriended', i think you should consider changing your name to judas", "cheers i am done talking to someone of such weak character. i hope to God i don't befriend people like you in real life. good bye."

> gameID=12071 After one of the worst sets of Spring moves I have ever seen against Russia I resurrect myself from the dead in Fall 1903 gaining my first builds of the game. This one is still in progress so I may very will still bite the bullet...the games get harder the higher up you climb...

Thanks for listening to my ramblings and checking out my games (if you did) - I've had tons of fun playing this game on this site!

I forgot about this. This was probably my one of my favorite moments. I got these messages after stabbing someone. (Warning: Explicit)

29 Jun 09 Autumn 1911: my dick ===> your faggot ass :)
29 Jun 09 Autumn 1911: Just want to let you know that Turkey wins the game and you end up with few SCs than you have now :). this is what I will do.
29 Jun 09 Autumn 1911: So that you think twice before sucking another cock next time :)
29 Jun 09 Autumn 1911: Oh fuck, what a loser. You player 53 games and have the political puppet rating. Joined the game for noobs trying to find a proper place for your short dick :). I see...
30 Jun 09 Autumn 1911: I even used my microscope today but still could not see your balls :). Way too small, boy...
01 Jul 09 Spring 1912: You are a shitty little dick with no balls, fag :).
01 Jul 09 Spring 1912: Motherfucking piece of shit :-)
01 Jul 09 Autumn 1912: Your mother's cunt smells like fish. Tell her to do something about it because you smell like fish too :)
07 Jul 09 Spring 1914: You are not winning this. I do not let cocksuckers like you win.
08 Jul 09 Spring 1914: He-he. Happy now, cocksucker :)?

In spring 1907 as Germany I convinced Austria to support me into Sevastopol against Turkey, Turkey to support me into Vienna against Austria, England to support me into Spain gainst Italy, and moved against Liverpool, despite the fact that I was running away with the game at that point.
rlumley (0 DX)
01 Sep 09 UTC

It's the easiest way to win, tactically speaking. :-P

well i am actually more proud of the austria russia alliance cause that one is a rare combo usaully austria and russia are sworn enemies
denis (864 D)
01 Sep 09 UTC
and as for juggernuats i think that why spoil a game and get killed by russia if you can have a fruitfull alliance i bet that when not allied with russia turkey has a low rate of sucess and same goes for russia
denis (864 D)
01 Sep 09 UTC
now i'll give you an example of an unusual game i am italy and have non agresion with france and i move into austria but then russia tries to diplomatically get me out of my SC's by using the illusoin of an alliance ( we both went for austria didn't attack each other but no support was exchanged) and then just as i started to move west i team up with germany against russia it was really not that great but italy is a tricky country so so what ever

I'm especially proud of my win percentage as russia (40%). You can see the games at gameID=11829, gameID=11469, gameID=11156 and gameID=10184.

Last but not least I really enjoyed my only (3way) draw as Italy with TheMasterGamer (Turkey) and Bang (Germany) in one of my first ever games at gameID=10139

gameID=4033 - autumn 1904, I, as england, convince france to disband his army on mainland britian. (and thus forming an alliance with me.)

I had also convinced him i was moving to london with north sea so he didn't take london (which not only allowed me grab holland and build in london, but also stopped france from having london supporting his army there) i think the diploming of that single year was what put my on track to surviving the game, and coming close to winning at times, but my end-game strategy clearly needs some work....

That was a great game.

(i'm also proud because it was spring 1903 of that game which was chosen as the map on the fron page of this site.)
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=12170 Only because it's my only victory with Italy lol ^_^

gameID=11867 (russia) i loved this game - my first with my dear (online) friend jbalcorn - b/c it was full of constant banter, even though one player accused me of multi-gaming b/c through diplomacy i got other countries to keep working with me even after i stabbed them.

gameID=9846 (england) i took over CD 1 SC england by accident and managed to get into the draw. definitely a highlight!

gameID=9234 (england) i was so frustrated with the outcome of this game, but i think it was of the most fun i've played on the site. germany and i were allies, then stabbed, then allies, then stabbed, then allies, etc until russia and italy were holed up in turkey and able to get included in the draw b/c of the mistrust between germany (xapi) and i. a really fantastic game.

This is one of my favorites. After teetering on the edge of destruction as the last vestige against a juggernaut (and an English turncoat), I somehow managed my first win as France through clever negotiations and sheer luck at every critical point. I managed to turn Turkey against Russia and gain a position capable of taking St. Petersburg by putting through a vote to draw while Turkey still expected to win. While I was the beneficiary of a few missed and convenient moves by Russia, I still like this win because of its improbability.

My proudest moments is talking people out of a stab a turn or two into their stab. There was a game where I made a devastatingly successful lisbon leap/slingshot (gameID=9496). Raped england single handedly in 1902.
I was lucky in that game... by the time the jugg got to me, they turned on one another. I was really tempted to continue on, but I was playing with two other fantastic players, both of whom would never let a solo happen... so it would have swung back and forth (and, IIRC, we had to keep pausing cause we were all at busy times in our lives). Still was a great game.

I think this may have been one of my best plans of all time, even though it backfired. We were playing a variant called lost in translation, where everything we said, had to be translated into the native tongue of our country using Google translate, and then untranslated by the other person. I decided to use it to my advantage, and try to confuse one of my enemies (Italy) by putting nonsense into the translator to start. It kind of ended up being a dud though, because I needed Italy's help, and therefore couldn't attack him. Here is the untranslated version:

Me: Spring 1901: It seems the bird is flying away from home. Baby kittens do roost in Germany and France. I worry that the Turks with the use of bombs against the Arabs. What do you think? Do you think that magic hut will fly?

Italy: Spring 1901: I think that ...
that the Germans want war with the French
and that the Turks want to Greece

Me: Spring 1901: How do you think that the Turks will fly on chickens? He can send his army to one side. I just worry about the English barbers.

Italy: Spring 1901: I'm not sure. we have to wait for this turn to find out. Also, do not you realize that you were talking about Turks ", flying over the chicken?" haha must be a loose translation

Me: Spring 1901: Oxen in my bed. Many many will! Do you have a Turkish snot?

Italy: Autumn 1901: I am very sorry, but that last sentence makes no sense! Please try rewording your sentence.

Me: Autumn 1901: Oxen, Oxen! I do not know how else to say about it.

Me: Autumn 1901: Any chance you support the holding of Romania Turkey tries something funny?

Me: Autumn 1901: I am referring to Trieste. Turkey can try chicken in Serbia

Italy: Autumn 1901: haha i love the Russian to English. I am looking for something very subtle in obtaining another center from Austria. Do not worry though. I will help you achieve some centers also supply

Me: Autumn 1901: I too would like some chickens. Maybe you can attack on Turkey and to send him a will?

Italy: Autumn 1901: I'm not sure what you said, but it seems that you are on board
