Re: Twenty Questions - CLXXXV
Mmmm. He was at least one of those things, but I probably wouldn't classify his major source of fame in those five categories.

Without looking very hard, I can't find any evidence that he was. In any event, not a major part of his public persona.

Re: Twenty Questions - CLXXXV
I think we need to return to:
Did he ever run for political office?
(Since he's not an athlete, didn't partake in WW1 or WW2, and isn't primarily known for visual arts, he could also be a political person).
Also: How may questions are left?

16 asked so far, 14 answered, by my count. Someone else can double check.
Is this person primarily known as a radio or television personality, for something theater-related, or for involvement in a major news event?

Yes.
No.
Not many questions left, so I will offer a bit in hints. No to the major news events. Certainly doing something involving appearances on radio, on television, or in a theater (though not necessarily all of those) was an important part of his fame. Note I am saying "*in* a theater".

Re: Twenty Questions - CLXXXV
17 questions down, 3 to go. Here is my summary (you may want to read it carefully).
1, 2, 3, 5, 6: Dead male human born in the United States or Canada. The fact that he is dead makes me sad.
13: Born in an area that is currently part of California, Texas, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Arizona, Florida, Wyoming, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, or the Midwest
4: Not famous for achievement(s) relating to science, maths, politics, or laundry. At least once notably did not do laundry.
7, 15: Alive at some point during the 1900s; died later than 1959
8, 10, 11: Famous for endeavors in one of: the military (but no participation in WW1/WWII), clergy, art?
9: Usually (not always) seen wearing glasses or a monocle
12: Is he known as a visual artist, musical artist, actor, filmmaker, or writer?
14: Not notably a supporter of the civil rights movement
16: Never ran for political office
17: Not associated with a major news event, but a major piece of his fame came from appearances on radio, on television, and/or in theaters.

12 listed as the q rather than the a. @QM is that deliberate? [clarification, not a q]Spartaculous wrote: ↑Fri Feb 02, 2024 1:20 pm17 questions down, 3 to go. Here is my summary (you may want to read it carefully).

Not deliberate; my fault. (I was operating by copy-pasting the questions in and then modifying them; I missed the editing of that one.) Thanks for catching that. Here is what it should read:

12: His fame certainly incorporates aspects of (at least one of) being a visual artist, musical artist, actor, filmmaker, or writer, but none of these are the best descriptions of him that you could offer.
14: Not notably a supporter of the civil rights movement
16: Never ran for political office
