I'm not inventing anything here. The below is your train of reasoning for voting Nephthys.

1. Chaqa's first vote last game was for dargorygel.
2. Last game, Chaqa was town, and dargorygel was scum.
3. This game, Chaqa's first vote was for Nephthys.
4. ?
5. Therefore, I, xorxes, will vote for Nephthys.

(4) is a question mark because you never expressly stated your leap in logic, but leap you did. It was precisely my point that you must presume Chaqa is town, or your original vote did not make sense for the reasons you gave, except for Neph's END vote being scummy.

You progressively elaborated on this idea by calling Chaqa a "litmus test," but what could that mean, in the context of sheeping Chaqa onto Neph, except that you believe Chaqa is town and has good scumdar? The only other explanation I have for the below is that you were justifying sheeping Chaqa. Are you saying that your proposal is we lynch Neph to evaluate the quality of Chaqa's scumdar?

You're way overanalyzing this. I voted for Neph because it felt good to do so with what I had so far at the time, and Chaqa having voted for him was an incentive because I did the same last game and it turned out to be a good hunch. You making such a huge deal of such triviality makes me confortable with my current vote.

It seems to me that the below must be a contradiction. Interestingly, you have not claimed that your initial vote was a joke. Instead, you are insisting that your vote was motivated by other factors, and I am misunderstanding you. But which factors? If you do not think Chaqa is town, and further you do not think Chaqa has good scumdar, why did you sheep him onto Nephthys?

You seem to think that I have a strong conviction that Neph is scum based on a strong conviction that Chaqa is town and a strong conviction that Chaqa has good reads when he is town. None of those things are even remotely close to the truth though.

My initial vote was not a complete joke, and Neph may very well be scum. I don't believe you're misunderstanding anything, I believe you understand perfectly well the extent of my seriousness and that you are just fabricating a lot of smoke.

I'm going to have to echo Food here somewhat. I don't really understand why me voting for Neph would make you think he's scum to a point you're doubling down on it. It all seems really forced, and possibly is a way to buddy me as you know I'm prone to being buddyable.

This is an odd response, since xorxes is obviously using "litmus test" in its metaphorical sense, which is closer to Chaqa's definition that the literal definition xorxes references.

I find (this is anecdotal- tbh I don’t know if the facts back this up or not, but I think they would) that even in joke phases, wagons can get started and stick. Let’s say two people followed onto xorxes. He becomes a wagon even if damo comes off.

I just really don't think anyone would follow damo onto xorxes here...

It strikes me as odd that he moved from the bottom of the list up, and xorxes happens to be a player sum would LOVE to have mislynch Ed if he is town.

If I were scum I'd be just as happy getting bozo lynched as xorxes, assuming they're both town. And actually, based on the last two times damo was scum, I'd assume scum!damo would rather keep xorxes alive since xorxes seems to always townread damo.

And even if xorx doesn’t get lynched, he becomes a wagon and anyone who is a wagon D1 will get the “someone protected his wagon” come d2.

This is a good point. But, again, it requires xorxes to become an actual wagon first, and I can't see damo actually thinking it would happen.

Well, for one thing, your vote on damo was for a legitimate reason, whereas damo's was a policy/joke vote. And also, no offense meant to damo, but I think you've got a bit more of an influence than he does. I've never even played with you but I'm familiar with your reputation as a good player.

The point of this 'policy' voting is that we have a 5 post requirement instead of two. I tend to struggle to know what to post day 1 with nothing to go on so this should guarantee me at least some posts.

Damo was scum in the game with the second quote. But these are pretty different scenarios. In that game I had misread what someone (bozo?) said and got things backwards. Here, I'm not misunderstanding anything - damo is literally saying he's not going to read the thread. Obviously I think that's scummy but I'm not sure how these two situations are related.
