Missed turns

#1 Post by Gnomeo » Mon Dec 02, 2019 11:15 pm

Instead of Delays when someone misses a turn, can it be an option to just have their units hold instead of making everyone else wait?

Not quite sure what exactly that would fix. It punishes people who simply missed one deadline, and destroys games where someone civil disorders twice and just holds all of their units. People quitting games sucks, but I think the current system is the best one.

Oh I just meant it as an option when making a game, not a thing for every game. Because I mostly play private games with friends when if they are kicked they just come back

No, this is not an option. If your friends are being turds, consider:
1) Unfriending them.
2) Email the mods at [email protected] and we'll see what we can do.

This system is working on the playdiplomacy.com. I think it is the worst on that site. Or maybe the messaging system. It is hard to decide. :)

I play PlayDip & webDip & this is unfair criticism.
Firstly on PlayDip, there are “protected” games that work similarly to webDip, so you have a choice (unlike here).
Secondly messaging on PlayDip is superior to webDip because you can simultaneously message multiple opponents. Admittedly the interface is not as pretty as the “instant message” style here, but the functionality is superior.
There are things dodgy at PlayDip, but the two you chose are not deficiencies.

Can you play protected games without paying?

Yes, it’s not a “premium” characteristic. Neither do “Anonymous” or “Live” any longer require payment.

So nowadays not paying only prevents you from playing Gunboat, and more than 3 games simultaneously? That's good.

Yes, Gunboat &/or other maps/variants (or more than 5 games simultaneously) They upped it from 3. Significant improvements were made.

Best Regards Senlac
