Solobot challenge

#1 Post by CptMike » Sun Oct 13, 2019 12:26 pm

Hello,

I launch a new challenge:
making a solo against the bots but in finishing with a
maximum of centers...

We can start with this... Who can make better ?
1. Germany - 29 centers

Just so everyone is aware - bot games are capped at 50 years. The bots stop entering orders and you will be forced to draw or cancel your game. That means you have 50 game years to complete this challenge.

Alternative Solobot Challenge

#4 Post by e.m.c^42 » Mon Oct 14, 2019 10:14 am

Oh, this looks rather fun (albeit out of my current skill levels)

I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking that, so:

Anyone interested in a parallel, opposite challenge? Whoever manages for the bot to end the game with the maximum number of centres, any variant allowed.

If there are any takers, we can start it off with this :)

1. Austria - 26 centres (FvA)

LOL...
Not easy at all to manage the way the bot can win.

In 1v1 I think it should be possible to achieve 35 for the human player...
Worth trying.

35? With only 34 sc's on the board? Good luck with that!

That's simply gorgeous.

What's funny though, is the bot supporting you into it's own SC in Spring 1915 - it's apparently also learned the art of throwing when faced with imminent destruction :v

we're such good role models for KestasBot. just simply the paragons of that higher, next level thinking

Here's three more for anyone who likes monochromatic maps. Austria was the trickiest due to her lackluster port, but none were particularly hard.

Kestas Bot, I now officially release you from your torment.

Okay, refine the challenge. Who can get 34 centers in the quickest time. Looks like 1912 is the best of the lot so far.

I think, only that if it is the same country. For the rest of the 6 the 34 challenge any year is still open :D

:applause:

this is highly motivating. Also, it is a bit beyond me to even win normally, so "not particularly hard" makes me terrified to figure out what you mean by "very hard" :D

I gotta make this up to KestasBot, will be trying to get a better bot win :D

I'm too awed for floundering metaphors at this point, looking at the board is like finding out one gets to eat free broccoli for the rest of their life

I do wonder though, has there been anyone sadistic enough in an actual human game to accomplish this? Someone so brutally intent on conquering the map that simply soloing was not enough, but utterly obliterating every trace of other player countries once existing in the world before ending the game :D

My four victories came in 1v1s. "Very Hard" would be achieving the feat in a classic game. Separating all opponents from their home centers is the most pivotal step in the challenge, and classic features six times as many!

Big shout out to bozotheclown for completing the true challenge. Hitting "Ready" on the final turn hoping for an English move to Liverpool must have been a tense moment!
