@Flash - Actually, going back to your original post, I think I misunderstood it. I thought you (like me) were assuming a mislynch and saying it still increased odds of positive result. Now that I see you were including the lynch odds, I get where you are coming from. Just misunderstood precursors.

One difference is that you are adding the odds of a mislynch into the math, when lynching is an entirely separate decision made at a different time. We should take the lynch/no-lynch odds as a given when calculating the likely results of the night phase.

But the primary difference is that you are coming at it backwards, using the probability of all kills being on town (which requires multiplication - nk AND sk=*, see wiki) to determine the probability of catching scum/sk. Im coming it at it forwards, using the probability of any nk being on scum/sk (which requires addition, nk OR sk=+, see wiki_.

Either way, we agree on the play, so happy to chat more about this post-game but dont want to clog thread.

Jamie is overplaying his usual petulance. Its an act. Hes given himself an excuse to tunnel when everyone else has written him off as tiwn v town on me.

Its a mistake to think Jamie cant be stubborn as scum. Hes awfully smug at the size of my wagon. Hes not tried to evaulate a single persons reasoning who has joined my wagon either

At that point, Damo wasn't a lurker, he was a potential mod-kill for failing to post. One of my priorities is avoiding town deaths (which is also why I generally think no-lynch day one is a good idea), so as I explained when I made the vote, if we don't have a good bead on someone actually being scum, we can lynch a non-poster to avoid an additional mod kill.

Obviously now that Damo has shown up, I would like people to at least consider lynching DemonRHK (if he continues to not show up) to avoid a mod-kill, if there isn't a better candidate for the lynch.

And I realize that town will probably lynch an active player, and let DemonRHK be mod-killed, and we'll probably have two more townies go down in the night. Because that's how it goes... (But hey, maybe the SK will take out scum for us...)
