I'll ask Pouncy. She'll probably play.

Also, with only 9 players, a game would only last like a maximum of 10 days, so we have a decent amount of time before the 4th.

Never played. Would like to give it a try. Please add me.
Also can the Dr save himself?

It depends on the specific game setup - they all vary slightly, but the GM outlines the setup beforehand. Typically (on webdip at least) the Doctor can save himself, but cannot save the same person (including himself) two nights in a row.

If we can start on time I am happy to play, but I do not expect to have internet access the week of July 4th... so I am a little hesitant to sign up
It is quite usual for forum games to be paused for national celebratory days. Although Jamie might be opposed to pausing for American Rebellion Against British Benevolent Hegemony Day...
My intention is that this game will be finished by 1st July, so as not to cross-over with Brainbomb's "Hydra" game if possible. I will extend the phase over 4th July if the game is still running then. I will add DrCJG - but feel free to remove yourself if you didn't want to be added...

Good question and good answer. I will provide full details of the setup in the near future. There will be a Doctor and, as Tom suggests, it will follow the usual webDip Mafia interpretation - which is that the Doctor *can* self-target, but is not allowed to target their save on the same player on consecutive nights. (That is, if the Doc self-targets the save on Night 1, they have to try to save someone else on Night 2).

I have about 0 info on how to play, but it looks very interesting. Seems like it involves RP, which I do from time-time. Count me in, but I'll definitely need the veteran help.

Hi Marneus. It's basically a game of bluff, guessing, detection, and problem solving.

There are (usually) two teams. One large team of "Town" and one small team of "Mafia". The Mafia have two advantages - they know who else is on their team, and they have the ability to chat in private away from the main game area.

Each townsperson doesn't know the identity / alignment of anyone else.

The town has to work out who the Mafia are, before it is too late.

A basic explanation of what the game is about, is here:

https://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?ti ... e_of_Mafia

I will post the specific setup details for this game later on today / tonight.

NEWBIE MAFIA - ROLE DETAILS

I can now confirm that the game will contain the following roles:

VANILLA TOWNSPERSON
You are a VANILLA TOWNSPERSON. Each day you must vote for a suspect. You win when all of the Mafia have been eliminated, or nothing can stop this from happening.

DOCTOR
You are the Town DOCTOR. Each day you must vote for a suspect. Each night, you may visit a player by PM-ing the GM with the order ##SAVE <NAME>. At the end of the night, if they have been targeted by the mafia nightkill, you will save their life. You will know if you successfully perfomed a save. Your target will learn of your visit ONLY if you save them. You may not visit the same player on consecutive nights. You win when all of the Mafia have been eliminated, or nothing can stop this from happening.

COP
You are the Town COP. Each day you must vote for a suspect. Each night, you may visit a player by PM-ing the GM with the order ##INVESTIGATE <NAME>. At the end of the night, you will learn whether that person is aligned with the Town or the Mafia. You win when all of the Mafia have been eliminated, or nothing can stop this from happening.

MAFIA GOON
You are a MAFIA GOON. Each day you must vote for a suspect. At night you can talk to the other Mafia in the Mafia QT at <LINK>. Your team has a factional roleblock and a factional nightkill. You win when all of the Town have been eliminated, or nothing can stop this from happening.

By "factional" nightkill, I mean that the Mafia as a group have the power to kill one player each night. This is decided by a vote in the Mafia QT during the night phase.

By "factional" roleblock, I mean that the Mafia as a group have the power to roleblock one player each night. If they target the Cop or the Doctor (the only town players with a night action), that player's action will be blocked for that night and will fail.

Three more newbies (as a minimum) are required to make this game viable - roll up, roll up.
