It's time for the Phase Change.
It is now round 1 Phase 2.
54 fish remain.
PMs going out now.
Send the amount of fish you wish to fish, as well as any other abilities you wish to use during phase 1 of next round, in a PM to me.
Okay this is strange

How did we end with more than we started? Did somebody fish negative 4?

Are you joking? Fish are added per two remaining fish.

Oh duh

I thought the fish count growing would happen next phase

Okay so 54/3=18

So 18*2=36

So we fished 14 fish across 6 players

So at most two and at least one person overfished.

Because Pengwinja lowered the amount by only one as per his testimony, it could only be one liar.

So who?

Jamie you have any info?

Also Pengwinja, does your ability reset or can you bring the max down to 3 this upcoming fishing phase?

I have a strategy for next round that will keep our fish supply bountiful and let me know more info.

It will stay at four until moved, it doesn’t reset to five at the end of the phase. I can bring the max down to 3 this upcoming phase. But, there is a few stipulations. Anyone else with the tag votes on what to do. Majority vote wins. If its a tie, it stays stagnant. Does this answer the question?

With 6 players and everyone telling the truth, that is 12 fish taken. But someone could theoretically fish for 4 fish, bringing our total up to 14. But it also could have been two people fishing 3 fish. So 2 liars and 3 liars are both possible scenarios.

Unless somebody fished 1 fish in which case we have a real lying problem.

Yeah, I thought you meant that it can only be one liar, So it was a mistake on my end. If someone fished 1 fish they are going insane, unless some ability allows them to get more points for less fish?

I’m somewhat confused, are we going to try and grow the pond, or keep it constant but get more points? In my eyes, there’s nothing stopping the greedy fisher from continuing to overfish if we all stay low and try to grow; in the long run, we could be feeding the overfisher. Thoughts?

Some powers can punish overfishers, like mine, but no one will say if they do, so we don’t know if there is one. Letting the pond grow will allow for longer term gain.

Why was one phase much shorter than the previous one?
I feel like I have amnesia.
I was relatively sure the previous phase lasted about 2 days. It lasted 6...
Anyways, Phase 1 always lasts 24 hours.
Phase 2 lasts until everyone submits PMs, but I apparently forgot to PM everyone reminders around the 2 day mark.
I still think those dates are incorrect.

Also, I am reminding everyone that there is a small element of randomization in the fish increase. Around a 1-3 increase or decrease from the theoretical r * 1.5 = n (r = remaining fish before the increase, n = new amount of fish). You are hereby reminded :)

So denoting Fn as no of fish at start period n and Cn as number of fish caught in period n we have

Fn+1 = 1.5 (Fn-Cn)+/-3

from which

Cn = Fn -2/3(Fn+1)=/-2

So with the number of fish going from 50 to 54 the number of fish caught was anything between 12 and 16. So there may have been no overfishing (we all caught 2 as agreed) or possibly even more overfishing than we thought.

This means if we catch 1/3 of fish available the stock may decrease. It is therefore even more imperative that we catch 2 each this phase.

Last phase I investigated KingOfThePirates and have nothing interesting to report about him.

There’s randomization? So someone may have not overfished, but they also may have? This is insanity.

I am definitely not sure how to think about the randomness in this seemingly mechanically focused game.

You can't do much without the distribution. Apparently it just hides the true amount of fish caught.
