##GAME END
With the death of the Emperor the hearts and minds of the Loyalists to Commodus were surely been broken.
Maximus, also known as Worcej, stood among his protectors the remaining Gladiators: Carambola, Floodgates and RagingIke. They mourned for the loss of their comrades but looked out into the stands to their supporters. The Princes Lucilla, also known as Brainbomb, and the loyal servant to Maximus, Cierco, also known as Chaqa stood there with approving smiles on their faces.
Proximo, also known as EMC, walked over to sit down next to Princess Lucilla and together the gruff gladiator and princess raised their wine goblets to Maximus in harmony.
The last of the Loyalists to Emperor Commodus, shook in his boots as he stood in the Colosseum in front of Maximus. The remainder of the Praetorians had already deserted and Rome was about to crown Lucilla’s son as the new Emperor with her as regent. However, in a vain attempt to salvage the situation Quintus, the Praetorian Captain, also known as Temasek22 struck out at Maximus with his short sword.
“Enough! Quintus! Enough!” Maximus roared in anger and with a mighty blow with his gauntlet knocked Quintus down. His short sword spiraled through the dust
Quintus managed to look up at Maximus as he approached but simply let his head roll back knowing he was defeated. Instead of killing Quintus, Maximus reached down and pulled him up.
“There was a dream that was Rome once Quintus. The true Emperor Marcus Aurelius realized that. Even though you have sinned and betrayed your vows to the Empire..” Maximus trailed off and then looked at him in the eyes “I know you are a good man. You will atone for your crimes, but together we will build a New Republic.” Maximus reached out and Quintus hesitated for a moment but then seized his hand.
“I will serve you like I did in Germania”
Maximus shook his head, “No, the time for service is over. We are all free men. Even you are now freed from Commodus.”
And together the heroes of the town: Worcej, Chaqa, Brainbomb, RagingIke, Floodgates, and Carambola walked off to start building their new Republic. Even Proximo joined them.
The Mafia have been defeated.
The Town and Third Party Survivor win!
Good game

Why are there so many deleted posts in the god thread haha - curious to what it was.
As an aside, it was pretty fun this game how we had a sudden heel-face turnaround :D

Second best comeback I’ve ever seen in my life, only behind Barcelona-Liverpool Champions League semis.
Shame we blew it...

Re: MAFIA 48 -The Gladiator- GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
Quick read of scum-chat: Your team decided to gamble and not neutralize me. You did not coordinate well and also did not pay enough attention to the game. You should've jailed me on the night rdr died, not Chaqa.
Pretty much you guys didn't use your 'advantage' (coordination) well enough.
Re: MAFIA 48 -The Gladiator- GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
And @Neph: It didn't matter, a guilty scan on someone had 1/5 shot of being town. Getting the challenge in, before your gladiator, was critical to control it.
Nit-pick however you want, town won and you didn't lawlz

Re: MAFIA 48 -The Gladiator- GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
Scum team seemed like they had a pretty good chance early on, actually - if only it was anyone but Neph that got challenged lol
but overall the setup was pretty fun, thanks to Darg and ND :D
ND, as for feedback on survivor role, the betting actually made it pretty interesting - I think it's a better mechanic compared to say, the vests, since there's more of an incentive and sense of control. The relative lack of power I personally liked, since it meant my chances of well, actually surviving were much higher than not, since the role isn't a threat to town or scum in most cases. It also makes the game more laid back, and it's easier imo to point things out without a care at all. More fun in general.
I do feel like there could've been more to the betting ability, and gaining more powers, such as perhaps if they predict who will be lynched, sent in X number of hours before EOD adjudication, they could gain one thumbs up/down ability - or if they correctly predict a NK, they can gain a NK. Predict a jailed player/rb'd player, gain that ability single use - this would force a lot more interaction between third party with town/scum, and make things a lot more interesting (and chaotic).
but overall I'm quite happy with it :D

As an aside, scum, I wish you took the offer lol
rivera, what was the rationale behind sending the challenge then? Ensuring the game ended faster?

and Tem, as for improving: I'm not a good player, but imo just being more active would help a lot as either alignment. It doesn't matter whether your ideas are good or bad, or even really that tangentially related in a logical analysis way - it helps just...being there? and having stuff for others to read, giving a thought process behind what you do.

How come I try for several games, and have mediocre play, and then one game I do nothing, literally NOTHING, and it causes us to win the game!

I, however, am very proud of my accomplishments and most certainly didn’t stop reading this game a while ago at all, that’s for sure.
Re: MAFIA 48 -The Gladiator- GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
Temasek didn't get a chance to open his mouth for defense, that's what you deserve! for stabbing me kidding
Also town managed to turn around a terrible, depressing situation.
Nicely done! This town rocked and now Colosseum is filled with stinky bodies pertaining to our enemies
Hooray, it's a glorious day!
Ubi concordia, ibi victoria

Well done guys, I'm impressed with how worcej and Chaqa went from the worst townies to the best. kudos to you both.
Re: MAFIA 48 -The Gladiator- GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
If you hadn't been a PR your type of play would had sucked for town. That being said, as a PR it is sometimes good to lay low so mafia don't target you early so it played into your favor.Percy Williams wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2019 5:28 amHow come I try for several games, and have mediocre play, and then one game I do nothing, literally NOTHING, and it causes us to win the game!
