Re: MAFIA 48 -The Gladiator- GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
My, yeah I am probably NK’ed N3, Manifesto:
I’ll preface this that more than likely I am dying because the janitor probably targeted me, blew the BG’s cover of me, and then the NK will go through. This requires some smart play from a no-day chat scum crew to setup a master plan like this. If this happened, there is for sure a scum in rdr/Neph/xorxes – they are the conniving ones left (imo). As of writing this, Percy and Temasek have not posted, which leads me to believe one of them is the BG (assuming I do die right now).
Now that I said that bit, let me just get this off my chest about D3: I simply panicked. I saw enough scum reading of myself going on, a push for mass claims, and knew I wasn’t going to be around regularly enough to respond at the right times. Then I realized my mistakes in responding and doubting Vapor as hard as I did that I thought my goose was cooked, a smart scum has probably found me. All of this, on top of missing with Jamie, proves I screwed up as a valuable PR and I am sorry to my team for it.
I’ve beaten it around enough, but Vecna’s plan was dependent on a few things. First, every PR for town needed to out themselves. Considering only Chaqa (not CC’ed so far, so probably legit) and myself did this, it was already not going to work. The AG, BG, and RB decided to stay hidden. Secondly, the plan depended on a 3P that had no invested value in working for town - nothing about the 3P is pro-town.
To understand this, reflect on this: The 3P just needs to survive until the end of the game. Under the plan, the town was supposed to give 2 of its 3 challenges to the 3P. D3 ends with them having 1 challenge left, assuming they used it to keep me alive. For the 3P however, the optimum idea would be to ensure his bet (which he would be stupid to not make) succeeds. If he picked town for his gamble, he should pit 2 PR’s against themselves, thus ensuring a town died. Then they are NK immune and thus not targetable by the scum for N3.
So another NK to town on N3, most likely me (as you will see) and the game is @ 7-4-1 on D4. Now, all scum needs to do is announce who they are on D4, 3P sets up a challenge against two town, and another NK on N4, and on D5 it’s 5-4-1. If the 3P wanted, they could just let scum win at this point. There would be no challenges left to issue to stop it and the votes for each day would be controlled by the 3P and scum.
I recognized this flaw early, but did not have the time or ability (cell phones suck) to point this out. We (town) would be at the mercy of EMC – also, note how quickly he already posted a way to side with scum (this proves my point in all the above reasoning). I made a choice to keep a challenge in town’s control and not gift it to the 3P. Unfortunately, I just aimed incorrectly, but I went with one of my strongest scum reads and have no regrets about how I chose it. Again, sorry Jamie.
Also, if Vecna didn’t have his dramatic flip-out post Jamie flip and demand a sub (thus why I asked the GMs) then I’d say Vecna is scum playing an amazing wolf game. His plan effectively removed town control (the threat of ‘we could lynch EMC!’ is mute considering scum could just save EMC or he could just challenge on the 2nd half of a day to ensure he lived) and could easily result in a scum win quickly. Nothing about the plan broke the setup, it just let EMC play god. And if Vecna is scum, this whole flip out drama thing is a new low for plays to clear one's self. But for now, I'll just assume he is town being a drama queen for not thinking through the flaws.
But all is not lost compatriots – Look here:
Day 1
Prado (5) xorxes foodcoats Jamiet* Temasek emc
yuuki (3) Hosuke Chaqa Nephthys
Hosuke (3) Demon worcej damo
Chaqa (3) rdrivera yuuki Vecna
Jamiet (2) Vapor Prado
Vapor (1) Carambola
Demon (1) Percy
No‑Lynch (1) Ike
Day 2
Hosuke (7) Demon damo Ike Vapor Jamiet rdrivera Vecna
damo (4) worcej Hosuke yuuki Chaqa
Chaqa (3) xorxes Temasek Percy
Jamiet (2) Nephthys Carambola
rdrivera (1) emc
blue = 3P
Orange = claimed PR (in this case really only Chaqa)
Reviewing this, I think I’ve narrowed the scum team down to this: Ike, damo, xorxes, and Neph. The distanced themselves from wagons, bussed as needed, and also interacted with each other well to blend in. Each for individual reasons, some are below:
Ike – strikes me as one of the lurkers (post-D1). D1/N1 was incredibly trolly, but looking at D2 by itself, he had his reasons for a light D2, but also joined Hosuke late (bussing imo). His N2 read list is low details (best to provide when faking) and his reads of damo, xorxes, and Neph all go town, null, null, which I think would be a good way to hide his bros. Also don’t like how he tried to plant doubt into Chaqa personally – seems to want to promote doubt for a possible mislynch down the road.
damo – His ‘always gets it wrong’ statements at me is a new flavor, but I will say he is intentionally doing things that did not get him caught in the past. He didn’t steal any reads, but once again look at his read list on D3 – Ike, Neph, xorxes all were town, null, ‘could be anything’ – again, not strong and middle of the road. He also poked at Neph and xorxes on D3, but never stuck with much conviction (especially after I forced it). I think he is treading water and waiting. Speaking out on the mass claim is a good way to buy town credit too. Also is not as dumb normally to think Chaqa got jailed, clearly Tem did.
xorxes – What has xorxes done this game? I recall him advocating to keep the 3rd party in the game. I see he interacted with damo a lot. He fielded some questions about his weird 3P ‘claim’, but not much else otherwise. Definitely no real hunting, which is normal from a scum xorxes.
Neph – His weird points in the beginning didn’t inspire much. I did find his POE’s weird to not include me at first, never understood why. He focused a lot of town-cores instead of actually pointing at scum. Neph spent a lot of D3 interacting with Vecna. His list with the other Ike, damo, xorxes was null, scum, scum. He also intentionally kept them in those pools. His S/S pairing only contains one combination of his possible scum team, but does single out xorxes mostly followed by Ike.
Ultimately, this is all a stretch for me, but the pool of options is rather limited and I think this lot makes sense. If I am alive at the start of the day, this will be an interesting D4… If I am not alive, it is up to you AG – you have to get the fake emperor to pull this off. The other PR's will need to step up to lower your targets, so trust who you can I guess?
God speed, sorry for making this pretty much borderline impossible.

##NIGHT RESULT
The night has come to a close. Another day of festivities begins in Rome. The Gladiators awake to find that it was unusually quiet last night.
No one has died.
Floodgates has REPLACED Vecna.

I was jailed last night. Not super surprising. Looks like worc survived, which is good.
Oh, and the kicker?
Nephs is scum. Got a scum scan on him (part of the "Royal Court", apparently)
##Vote Neph

Flood's an old regular, he's great. And he played last game...
I guess I could have held the info I had for a bit, but fuck it, I'm taking charge.
