Good morning all Diplomats!
I write to announce the dates and locations for the resurrected Tour of Britain, 2020.
Macclesfield: 14/15 March
London: 27/28 June
York: 26/27 September
MidCon (Derby): November, exact date TBA.
MidCon will also be the UK Championship, and as the final leg of the Tour it will be where winners are announced and prizes and kudos awarded.
All of these are open events so anyone can attend, and you can turn up on the day if you wish. However, it is REALLY helpful for the organisers to know numbers well in advance, to ensure the venue is appropriately sized, catering is appropriate etc.
It also helps other players commit to the cost of travel and accommodation if they are confident that there will be a decent number of players attending and that it is worth their while.
As well as the tournament aspect players are encouraged to bring their own variant boards and/or play outside the tournament if they wish.
So if you are interested please let me know as early as possible. It will be great to see you there!

Re: Tour of Britain 2020
I'll definitely join the London event, which will likely be part of the European Tour as well!
I might join the others pending on various factors

Re: Tour of Britain 2020
Britain get 3 possible event in the European Tour
one of class B
two of class C
(A is reserved to EDC Milano)
i will be very happy to get London Trophy as the B event
i defintinively want MaccCon as one C event
and i have a preference for York for last one
if Yorkshire Dipcon have a link with the one organised some year it was a good tournament
Midcon had a worst date for european tour agenda and from my point of view look more impersonal

Massive kudos to all involved.
I would dearly love to get to at least one of these.
Here's hoping.

How are numbers going diplomacc?
Sadly (as you know) I cannot attend the march event this time despite having a wonderful time at the last two but will be there for the London event

Hi Brumark,
Only seven confirmed for the Macclesfield leg so far. Plenty of interest for London though, I'm hoping for at least two boards there, maybe three.

Good news!
Is there a website for the whole Tour of Britain?
I also have updated the diplomacy.world site that was intended to collect all the information about diplomacy F-t-F tournaments in the world.
