Re: Announcing the 2020 Masters Tournament
Currently? Looking pretty easy haha. There's an RR requirement that I'll be enforcing, but as of yet we don't have a full roster of signups.
@everyone - I'll be messaging some of the past participants in the tournament this weekend to see if they'll be interested.

Would love to play. My Live and Gunboat GR's certainly qualify me, although I've hardly played any Full Press non live games due to lack of time, so my over GR is not high. Idk if that disqualifies me.

I'd love to join also.
I play f2f more often than online, so I don't have a recent ranking here (but 100% reliability rating!).

Great. For those who have expressed interest, please register under the Games->Tournaments section.
Consideration has been given to F2F players or those new to the site, but are veterans at others.

Welp - one day I might be ready to join....until then as a newbie is it possible to spectate the games?
Re: Announcing the 2020 Masters Tournament
Yep, go to the tournaments page from the header (under "Games"), and click on "Spectate Tournament" for this one. You'll be able to check out the exact games and spectate them as well if you like, once it actually starts.Sunstriker wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2019 12:20 pmWelp - one day I might be ready to join....until then as a newbie is it possible to spectate the games?

Exciting to see this happen and hoping I make the cutoff. As for turn times, 24 hours is doable, just gotta keep it in the back of your mind as you real world lol.

Mine is off the charts bad but I signed up anyway. Goldie can let em in or not - up to you buddy. I do like to support site tournaments though so if people have the time do it - they are often the only way to get decent games these days.

Re: Announcing the 2020 Masters Tournament
Hello everyone with an update! We have now passed 50 signups for the tournament. I will keep soliciting signups through Friday, and then over the weekend shall make the games.
I will try to rely on the Full Press GR to make cutoff decisions, but some discretion will also be provided, given the peculiarities of which games fall into that GR bucket. I'm finding out that quite a large portion of the signups don't have any sort of rating on there at all - and players whom I know are very good aren't appearing there either. Therefore some consideration will also be given to standard GR in deciding who is in and who is not.
Those who do not make the cut will be put on the sub list, which already has a few names on it, thankfully.
I have also decided that Round 3 - which based on my scheduling would have started 5 weeks after Rounds 1&2 - will start after the Christmas holiday. The delayed schedule would've pushed the start date to the week before Christmas, which is just a bad time for most people.

This will be a fun time. Good long games, much talk, and plenty of opportunity for anonymous treachery! or anonymous truth-telling and faithfulness, as may also happen
