Re: The Counting Game
1149 AD April – King Louis VII and Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine sail homeward in separate Sicilian ships. While the fleet rounds the Peloponnese (southern Greece) it is attacked by ships of the Byzantine navy. Louis gives orders to raise the French flag and is allowed to sail on. But the ships contain...

Re: Drop-outs EVERY Turn???
I think that having one or two people get booted per game is relatively normal, especially on WorldDip9 or Chaos. For five games in a row? I haven't really seen that too often.

That's what I thought too, but with NAf constantly tapping MAO, I couldn't go anywhere.

Re: How to break a stalemate line
See, that's the issue I was having. There was progress I could make, but as soon as I took Moscow I'd sacrifice something else, and end up right back where I started before the attack. Same thing with Warsaw.

How to break a stalemate line
I recently got the closest I ever have to winning with England against bots. After 20 moves not going anywhere, I decided to draw, even though I had 16 centers. Is there a way you think I could have played my moves differently? Is there I way I was blind to to breaking the stalemate? https://webdipl...

We only have three days left! We're so close! Please join up for a chaos game! I've only played once and would love to play again, I don't know about anyone else.

Re: The Carebear Conundrum
Personally, I like DSS because it encourages smaller nations to keep fighting for a share of the pot and get the other players to draw. If you're playing for one coin, it's not worth it! But if you're playing for 15 or so, I'd definitely keep playing! And, as a large nation, I like DSS more because ...

Unfortunately we didn't get enough players. If you are still interested, here's a game with a longer pre-game phase (14 days)

Call for Help
A few weeks ago, I went on a vacation. I got basically every one of my games to pause for me while I was away, which was very kind. I returned in early January and got people to start voting unpause so we could continue playing our games. It took a day or two, but most games got rolling again. Excep...

Re: The Counting Game
1136 AD May 28 – In Russia, the people of Novgorod depose and imprison Prince Vsevolod of Pskov. Novgorod asserts its independence from Kiev, but accepts protection from neighboring Kievan princes. In July, Vsevolod along with his wife and family are released (they are exiled to an uncle in Kiev). D...

My Autumn 1906 was the tipping point I think, wondering if there's anything I missed.

I'd agree learning solely on gunboat is tricky when transitioning to online play.
