Interesting article on NI and the DUP's position on Brexit: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/02/opi ... kXsQqVRR48

Not in the US where schools, churches, synagogues, and doctor's offices are bombing and shooting targets.

There was an editorial cartoon where a woman is telling her husband, "Our thoughts and prayers should protect our border just like our schools."
That is rather depressing. We've had terror and peace in my life, and politics drove much of it. But the normality of violence in the US feels different. Not like some historic injustice, but a present illness. And not one anyone seems to be trying to cure (or at least those that are trying are trying to do things which have failed many times over).

It shows how far we've come that such events have become shocking again.

I'm sure there is a quote there somewhere regarding war being an extention of politics... But seriously, fuck those guys, they have no justification for attempting to bomb a courthouse.

Prison may not be a good place to put them, but they need to be sent somewhere... Do we not have some uninhabited islands?

Thankfully no-one was injured.
