Why don't we just do doc vs rb?
This seems to be easiest; since it appears cop is a little too op without some type of hindrance

12 vt + doc
4 goons w/ roleblock

Mainly, I just don't want the game to fizzle and die the way the minigame did 😅

Cop/doc/VTs vs VM/godfather with either a factional RB or a roleblocker is how this should go. These are fun ideas but this is specifically supposed to be a classic vanilla game.

ok but a town factional rb is dumb

I trust our GM tesm. It does seem time for a simpler setup. For a change. But we do need some PR presence if for no other reason than to give a greater reason to not arbitrarily Lynch. I'd prefer two PRs... As long as they are basic well known ones.

Mhh it's not really that large of a deviation though: it's still the same mechs as a game with just doc/rb?

Who was it that really wanted the vanilla game? All that comes to mind is Durga - so if you approve this should be ok :D
Town having a factional Roleblock is very unusual and is certainly not Vanilla in any way whatsoever.
I'm with Jamiet, it is a really cool idea, so save it, but not really vanilla. Also, as Gm's we'd have to track two votes.
Well, peterbot and ctrl+f

and if we aren't doing cop, am not too sure of what to do without taking out PR's completely :D

as in, the mechanics behind this are simple enough that it's 'vanilla' in the sense of that the game is still dependent on reads, and analysis on content people provide, rather than discussion on flavor/mechs/math/claim-claim-item use-game ends.

Let's have a pure Vanilla game except with a Lazy Cop and an Inventor and a Lawyer and a Sniper.
And a Tanner and a vigilante and an alien and the President, and Mark Zuckerburg.

After sleeping on it, the idea occurred to me:

17 players

13 town
12 vt
1 doc
+town factional roleblock in the day that they vote for, in addition to lynch

4 mafia
3 goons
1 traitor doc who doesn't know teammates, but has the same ability as normal doc, except that it applies to lynch: they can choose to "save" someone from lynch, in which case that day the lynch would go on the 2nd leading wagon.

It feels vanilla enough, but not sure how balanced it would be. Thoughts?
That's an interesting setup. It is not Vanilla at all though.
I agree, great setup, but probably a deviant set up from vanilla.

no way in holy hell I would ever play another pure vanilla game though. They are awful and only a tiny, insignificant, fraction minority of people actually want it. It's sad, but true.
I totally agree. Vanilla is so dull.

I can just imagine that if durga and I could be put into any kind of competition whatsoever it would end with very large boxing gloves and bruised ego
I imagine Durga could snap you in half with one hand while eating a sandwich with the other.
