19 May 16 UTC | Good game, everyone. I caught a lucky break when the original Persian player dropped out at just the moment when I was most vulnerable to flanking, during the War for Africa. When my SCs climbed quickly, Rome & Greece already had so many troops committed to fighting each other that I was able to keep a numerical advantage in every theatre. As a word of advice, when one player is looking in position to get a solo victory, everyone else's top priority has to become stopping them. If Greece had disengaged his fleets from fighting Rome, and brought them in against me (as Rome did), we probably would have ended up with a three-way draw (sorry Persia). |
19 May 16 UTC | Thank you all for an enjoyable game. I hope to see you around. |
19 May 16 UTC | Thanks for the advice. I thought about it but it was too late. I always find it much more challenging when messaging isn't on because I can't orchestrate alliances the way I like to. |
19 May 16 UTC | Yeah, for sure. I play mostly gunboat games, and it's always a fine line of when and how to communicate a cease-fire, only through move orders. |
19 May 16 UTC | Congratulations to Egypt, well played. |
20 May 16 UTC | Nice Job, Egypt! Good tips as well. This was my first Gunboat, and it is going to take some getting used to |
20 May 16 UTC | Jumped into this and immediately regretted my decision- was a fun game nevertheless. Especially enjoyed that convoy at the end, Egypt. Well done! |
