23 Mar 15 UTC Spring, 1999: Good luck to all!
23 Mar 15 UTC Spring, 1999: Good luck!
03 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2005: Quick survey: When you "save" and leave your status as "not ready", are you most likely
A) Waiting for communication
B) Extending the round, so you don't have to check back earlier
C) Being vindictive because you get some kind of sadist pleasure off of making others wait for the next round
D) All of the above
03 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2005: When I do it, there is a chance that I might change my orders.
03 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2005: A)
03 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2005: but i've noticed a lot of people choose B)
03 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2005: Usually option a, but sometimes option b depending on my real life schedule.
05 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2006: E) waiting to see if someone is going to NMR or not because it affects your moves...
09 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2009: I call BS on this variant. This is 2009. We have long range missiles to use on fleets in the ocean. Just saying ;p
09 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2009: True Statement
10 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2012: This is almost like a live game!
10 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2012: Fighting until the last boat!
10 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2012: That's the way to do it, go down fighting to the end.
10 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2012: many many songs will be written about our last days, cuba
10 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2012: Absolutely. So many more ships have been sunk in the Bermuda Triangle and this time not by storms
10 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2012: That is an epic naval battle in the Caribbean.
10 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2013: so i guess the real elephant in the room here is....when are BC and Calif going to start attacking each other? That'd be fun for everyone. You two should go for it.
10 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: It would be a blood bath, mutually assured destruction. It will never happen.
10 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: No, it wouldn't be a mutually assured destruction - it would either be a draw or one would win ;) come on guys, go for it!
10 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: seriously. ride or die.
10 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: Although I think California is saying no because his troops are way out of position compared to BC. So if BC wanted to attack from the North, he could gain a lot fast. So it's really BC's call if he wants to go for the solo.
10 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: You guys! You are too funny! The riddler and the joker throwing smoke bombs but in the end batman and robin beat them. Wait, I'm batman, right? :-(
11 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: I'm just pointing out the obvious facts everyone sees on the map ;) it is true that it's all in BC's hands but he hasn't stabbed you so far so it's unlikely now! It would be glorious if you tried to see who can come out on top though :)
11 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: i might actually pay money to watch that epic stab.
11 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: You're right, the facts are obvious. We've been tight all game, it is difficult to stab someone after 28 rounds of solid cooperation. And I think it was the trust that led to success. Trust is really hard in this game, it is a gamble with high rewards and high risks. BC could have rolled me many times, but by not doing so, he's had great success.
11 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: well Cuba, too bad. looks like we are dealing with a couple of boy scouts. at least they can impart words of learning and wisdom upon us before the end.
11 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2014: Indeed, I'll be sipping rum in Kingston and watching the BC fleets storm in and thinking how BC could get even greater rewards in the end by trying to win the game! :)
11 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2014: Good game, Cuba. It was good working with you against Florida.
11 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2014: This was a fun game. Cuba is a little tough to play but I was hoping to get some sort of a result in the end. Maybe next time. Have a good one everyone.
11 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2014: I don't envy you Cuba. BC is pretty easy to play especially if you have California to guard one of your borders. Cuba is just smack in the middle of it. Unless you can gain a solid footing on the mainland and have a solid partner throughout, Cuba is just a crap shoot.
11 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2014: Cuba shouldn't have caved on our agreement. B-C wins if he desires. 34 to win. Which is 6 more. Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, & Venezuela are all within a move or two. Which would leave only one more needed. With the builds as they are, the solo is all but assured. Cali couldn't stop B-C if he wanted to given the right moves. However, as I said...B-C wins if he desires.
11 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2015: Well, I don't think our "agreement" would have made any difference since you were working with BC. Your agreements with me and Peru were just for show, but there was nothing we could do to stop you guys even though we knew it.
11 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2015: now that i have successfully established an impenetrable stalemate line, what do you say we call this at a 3 way draw?
12 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2015: Peru, you were clearly a better player than I. I could only break through due to BCs advances in the east. I hope to learn from this game. Good game!
12 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2015: Also I am going to be driving for the next five hours but still hope to get the rest of the orders in for the final year as they come due.
12 Apr 15 UTC Autumn, 2015: cheers man, it was fun. i probably made a critical mistake early on in seizing hawaii from you -- live by the sword die by the sword, right?
12 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2016: And for the longest support hold train -- from Anchorage to Jacksonville
12 Apr 15 UTC Spring, 2016: Haha! Actually Hawaii turned into a brutal defense position. But in terms of preventing an alliance, yeah, I guess that set us at odds.
12 Apr 15 UTC Good game!
