An Arsenal fan here (groan!) and this year I really don't mind who wins other than Real. I don't normally have a problem with teams, but I really don't like Jose's method of stopping Barca by trying to play dirty.
Arsenal have shown that it is certainly possible to beat Barca playing flowing football, and whilst I'm not saying everyone should do that there's a compromise somewhere in there before trying to beat them up.

I actually have a bigger issue with Barca than Real. They tend to cheat and dive a lot lately - and always fall down like shot with a rifle. Mourinho had a point when he said they are getting tolerated by officials and UEFA in general.

Real are no better obviously, but at least they don't claim to be saints all the time.

Supporting Arsenal should be really frustrating the last few years. Always that close to the win. Arsene really needs to stop messing around and buy some experiences players.

I'm Portuguese, so the Europa League is being quite good for us this year (100% Portuguese final for sure).
However I'm a Benfica supporter and I fear that Porto is this too strong...
Even if we manage to win against Braga it will be very difficult not to suffer another humiliation against Porto in the final (assuming that Vilareal doesn't achieve a miracle).

As for the Champions League I'm supporting Real for all the Portuguese that play there, including Mourinho but Barça is certainly stronger.
The red card to Pepe is a bad call in my opinion and it made some difference in the score. Real has no chance, I think.

Porto are really very strong, but games between such rivals are always a different story and I'd actually expect Benfica to win this, assuming they don't lose 1-0 to Braga before that.

After that Barca/Real game, I've completely gone off both of them. Say what you will about Utd but at least Ferguson doesn't take that sort of nonsense +Bank not withstanding).
I'm looking forward to a Barca / Utd final -- people don't give them enough credit against Barca. It's often forgotten that they killed the Spaniards in 08 just as convincingly as Barca beat them in09, and they were the much better team for the first 15 min until Henry scored and deflated them. Of all teams, I think Utd are the best equipped to match Barcelona, too, with all their ridiculously hard working players (Park, Fletche).

Maybe not. But I'm still hoping for a miracle upset of Man U. I don't think Schalke is strong enough to beat either Barca or Real in the final, but then I didn't think they'd beat Inter either.

We went to Hamburg for the Europa Final last year (Fulham v. Athletico Madrid). Great game, the two sets of supporters really got on and the locals were really friendly. A great day out all round, even considering the adverse result! What is more I thought Diegio Forlan had a great game and was a terrific sport. I warmed to Athletico Madrid much more than I might to that other lot from the city. A bit like Fulham and Chelski really!

@ Troodonte, how can you say the red card for Pepe was a bad call? He would have broken the other players leg if he had not pulled it back.

As a Dutch fan, i have seen those Spanish players diving last summer :(, but i also admit there ware some big offences. Pepe was much worse than that.

I am from Portugal and of course that I hope that Porto win Europa League! I remember when Jose Mourinho was coaching Porto, and I remember too that Porto have won UEFA Cup in 2003 and Champions League in 2004. Jose Mourinho was really a "newbie" coach, like the current coach of Porto, Andre Villas Boas. So, I think that is the destiny to win this year the Europa League, and if Porto mantains the same team we can win next year the Champions League. And I hope that Braga beats Benfica :D.

My bets:

Champions League: I want Real Madrid but Barcelona or Manchester will win.
Europa League: FC PORTO <3

Barça 2011 = the best football team ever

That was brilliant. Always good to watch people as full of themselves as Ferguson get their comeuppance.

I don't think I've ever seen a 1-3 game as lopsided as that one. Barca just took United out to the woodshed and beat on them for 90 minutes.

I have no love for Man-U, but I think you're being a bit harsh on Ferguson. The man is arguably the best manager of the modern era and yet is far less arrogant than someone of his talent has a right to be. Compared to an awful lot of other managers I could mention the man is a bastion of saint like modesty.

Still, well done Barca for once again playing football in a league of their own. They have already managed to make Spanish football as predictable as an SPL season without Celtic, and are in danger of doing the same thing with the Champions League. As good as they are, I can't help feel that football would be better off if they didn't exist.

Barca played brilliant football against Man Utd and throughout the season as well. Xavi, Puyol, Messi are maybe the best players ever played for Barca.

I don't like Man U, but no manager but Ferguson could have done what he did with the team he had this season. Imagine any other manager dealing with the Rooney fiasco, and the slow start Man U had at the beginning of the season. Barca did what was expected of them. Spain concentrates all of its talent in two clubs and then it's supposedly so surprising that one of two teams wins the mindnumbingly boring La Liga every season. There was no inevitability about Man U's achievements this season.

I agree Putin33, which is why I think the EPL is a superior league to La Liga. But, that isn't to say there aren't good teams besides Barca and Real Madrid in la Liga.

Sure, namely Villareal and Valencia. But when over half of your national team comes from two clubs, and those two clubs have won 52 of La Liga's 80 titles, you have a competitive monopoly.
