If you choose the convoy option with an army, but you dont use a fleet to convoy, will the army bounce with any unit that tries to move to the space? Or will the unit be able to move there?

I am in this game: gameID=25420 and a player requested a pause and never came back to the site. All of the other players want an unpause. I sent an email to the moderators twice and they have not responded. Does anyone know what I can do?
Does the clock move faster when everybody has saved their orders? For a couple of turns I have thought we were ending at a certain point, then it seemed to change. This time I watched the clock to make sure. At first it said we'd change to the next season at 6 am Wed, then now I log in and it says 12:30 am.
What's the longest you've ever seen a game go with all 7 countries still alive and kickin'? I'm in one now (i won't talk any more about) in 1913 and the first few are starting to fall, not even eliminated yet. any others?
In the "Open" games tab, quite a lot of games seem to show up where there is no country available to take over. Clearly these games should not be listed under "Open" as they have no openings for anyone to join. - Why is this? Is it a bug?

I had a thought about points inflation. This is caused by more points entering the pool (due to new players or players who drop below zero being topped up). A solution would be to introduce a non-refundable fee for each game - either a fixed amount (10 for example) or a percentage of the joining fee for each game. What do people think?
No you would still be topped up when you dropped below zero - as is currently the case. But the new points entering circulation would be canceled out by the points leaving circulation - hence no inflation.
I think that the multi accounts are a bigger threat to inflation if you are some one who is worried about such things. I just enjoy playig. I have met some nice usernames/personas and some bad ones. I'm sure those who've played with me can say the same about me. Why does inlation of points matter to you?
It's probably not a real problem. But maybe if there was a non-refundable fee for games then players might be less likely to go CD (slim chance) and perhaps more likely to try for a win rather than a draw. At present players often make a decent profit from a draw, I would like too see this profit incentive reduced.
No Czech I do not enjoy the game for what is. Negotiating, planning my strategy, tactics etc This is all side-line, for me, to the real joy of the game, which is adding up points.
Points are not central to the game, but they do matter. Firstly players get a bit of buzz from the gamble - that is when invest points in a game you are taking a risk. Secondly the number of points you affects the quality of the game you get to play. Generally speaking the more points you have the better quality games you afford to play (by quality I mean playing against better players). Thirdly points are a status symbol. Thus decisions made by players, whether pre-game or during a game are affected by points. Maybe not all individual players, but speaking about players in statistical sense, yes point affect the game. I think that by changing the points system slightly players might be encouraged to try for a win rather settle for a draw. I don't feel strongly about this. Its just a concept I am exploring.

Unfortunately, I'm very busy with finals coming up in a couple weeks, so I can't play as much as I'd like. But after mid-June, if you can get another game going, I will happily join and take some points from you. :)
I get what your saying Spyman that as more players join site there are more points in circulation to go around and as is the case the points are being devalued as currency is when you print more. To me it doesn't matter all these points from new players will soon be in the hands of the better players maybe even some of the new players will do well and prosper as well. Eventually all of the points will make there way to me and I will be the bank and give loans to other players for a small fee so they can continue playing.LOL. To bad there was no way of tracking points that a player has and which players they took them from you could then not only say that you beat someone but show them how many points you took off them as well.Most likely way to hard for system to keep track of.

I've played a few games of it on the oli-rhoen shadow site and really, really enjoy it. It's a solid variant and would be great with the community we have here. Is there any chance of it being added here?
