Oh no, Australia will block child porn sites, how awful!

Oh no, that's not all they're going to block! Any site could be permanently blocked with no oversight or explanation! The list of blocked sites will not be available for review by anyone! Our already-slow Internet is going to strain under the weight of software that has been proven to be completely inneffective. Utterly ineffective! Trust me when I say that anyone who wants to look at child porn will still be able to; the filter will take five minutes to bypass.

Be sure to write to your representative about this, these internet filter plans are really too much when all other western countries are moving away from internet filters

It's unbelievable that sites that have just a list of banned in Australia sites also get blocked - happened to Wikileaks.

On a somewhat related note the reason that some computer games are banned in Australia is that they are refused classification, there is no classification for 18+ games, insane situation that comes from pc games being "for children" in the mind of a truly ignoramus moralizing git - the one State attorney-general(chief legal officer of the state)that is refusing to agree with the other 7 state and territory attorney-generals and make a new 18+ classification (they all have to agree to make a new classification) and the most evil thing about this guy - Micheal Atkinson is that he is my member of parliament! grrrrr

Due to computer knowledge, not due to child-porn-looking-up experience. In hindsight, that was a dodgily phrased sentence.

I'm not sure but i read somewhere it was due to him thinking
"Computer games are aimed at children and teens so why would there need to be a 18plus rating ?"

which says more about when his brain stop accepting new ideas- ie 20 years ago when that statement may have been a transitory truth
