I Don't Care If It's December- I WANT MY M-E-T-S METS!
I love them... they break my heart every year, and I still love them. I love my 49ers and Anaheim Ducks, but baseball... THAT's what I can share with my drama friends... I WANT MY METS! So- who else on the site loves their team? :D

Any team, come on... except that one in Philly... and L.A.... and the BRONX!

It's SNOWING in London everyone!! Don't know why I felt like sharing that with everyone but i'm so happy, I love SNOW! it makes me feel all Christmasy! Anyone else had snow yet?

Heavy snow too! I'm looking out of my window in Westminster, and it's great!

Very light fluff in Seattle. One could not even call it snow. Except it was. For 15 mins.
Damn you El Nino! :p

Just enough to paste the ground white between the blades of glass and make the roads a little slick one morning, but it's all gone now. That's in Northern Kentucky, USA.
amonkeyperson (100 D)
16 Dec 09 UTC
Here in PA it snowed about 2 inches about a week ago but now they're are just small pockets of white stuff everywhere. Probably gonna be all gone by tomorrow.

I personally despise the snow. Gets cold, have to shovel the snow out of the drive way, it gets cold, and you can do as much outside. I'm a person who walks everywhere. I would walk somewhere 4 hours away and wouldn't mind, but when there's snow on the ground, and its colder then a witches tit outside, it makes going outside awful.
akilies (861 D)

good 13 inches in wisconsin, but that is about normal.

@biddis/cgwhite32-what do you guys classify as a "heavy snow" over there??
tilMletokill (100 D)
16 Dec 09 UTC
We got some in texa(southern United states) a few weeks ago which is a mircale for us. But the ground wasnt cold enough so the snow didnt stick =(

texa = texas

@AMP - that's why I have a four wheel drive SUV. Forget about shoveling... I just plow through the snow on my drive. It would take a massive 2 foot storm to even challenge my old Jeep, and my Explorer... Just drop in in 4WD-Low and go!

Heavy snow doesn't even have to settle in London.

We had a little bit a few weeks ago here in Washington DC, but it didn't really amount to much. I'm hoping for lots more though!

Yea, I've had the shovel the same driveway three days in a row because of this stupid snow. Why can't it all fall at the same time?
Chrispminis (916 D)

Here in Montreal we've got about 25 cms of snow on the ground. I've been changing socks twice a day at least. Wet socks. =(

Wrong hemisphery. Now, we got 33 celsium degrees. But we have snow once on the last 30 years here in Porto Alegre, Brasil.
DominicHJ (100 D)
16 Dec 09 UTC
Man, get better boots!

Even if I wear crappy old shoes I didn't need to change my socks. Mind you, I avoid deep snow spots, and keep to where there isn't much. :P

(though I do burrow boots for shovelling)
It snowed in Fleet today, several times. Then it rained, but it was a very cold rain, so the snow didn't melt. Roads are going to be a bugger in the morning though.
cgwhite32 (1465 D)

Yup, and more snow forecast too - with freezing temps, we might see a few cm's in the morning...

Central Indiana very little snow this season. But we have had the typical temp swings. Highs in 50sF fallowed by in the teens than back up to the 50s. Never get climatised.
@Biddis/cgwhite32 - apparently 'proper' snow is on it's way overnight, if the forecasters are to be believed. Might even have to scrape a little off the car in the morning... ;-)

@TheGhostmaker - we get heavy snow (as in settled and enough to build a snowman) around once every 20 years or so in London. I don't think I saw snow until I was about 10. The white stuff just falling from the sky for more than 5 minutes is enough fo us to get excited ;-)

Some snow in Helsinki, Finland. Gonna spend the x-mas holidays in Lapland. Guaranteed white ground there. :)

Minnesota in the hizzle - and yeah, we got about a foot. Going through a warm spell right now, since it's no longer zero degrees Fahrenheit. Gonna climb up to maybe 20, I hear!
cgwhite32 (1465 D)

Well, it's now 2 inches deep in North West London, which means the trains won't run, everything will grind to a halt, and I won't be able to get to work - I hope!
dave bishop (4694 D)
17 Dec 09 UTC
Yeah, in North London its getting pretty deep... I reckon i may get to miss school!
akilies (861 D)
18 Dec 09 UTC
wow 2 inches makes things halt over there. i still wear shorts when there is two inches of snow.
@pootercannon- i'm a state east of you, damn it was warm today, i think 25 F. i almost went swimming in the river.
It was a frigid 40 degrees fahrenheit this morning in San Diego. Don't worry though, by noon it was sunny and up to the mid-60s.

Snow in Coventry (and most places between here and Wolves where I was this morning).
But still, its ok in Bristol apparently: can't wait to go home!
Biddis (364 D)
18 Dec 09 UTC
@akilies - yep any strange weather causes disaster in London, it's because we're never prepared for it and it doesn't happen very often. Theres always problems with snow because we never have enough grit for the roads and it's never out quickly.
cgwhite32 (1465 D)
18 Dec 09 UTC
About 4 inches in the end - things ran ok, though not much in the way of gritting!
jman777 (407 D)
18 Dec 09 UTC
@ biddis - But didn't this exact same thing happen last year? haha
figlesquidge (2131 D)

snow here too yeah
Biddis (364 D)
18 Dec 09 UTC
@figle - the best year was about 5 years ago, it snowed in Feb and it was the first PROPER snow we' had in a few years - ACE! It's funny it's now turned into a once a year thing, normally in Feb (or March last year)

@jman - We never learn!! Also it's normally in Feb so i guess we're 2 months too early
@Biddis - surely the best snow was earlier THIS year in Feb? London closed for the day pretty much but it was the heaviest snowfall for almost 20 years.

Is Ghost rating (not ranking) affected by not playing for a while?
Does anyone know if your Ghost rating is impacted if you don't play any games for a while (like over the holidays)? I realize that your comparative RANKING may change.... but is your rating in any way affected?

thanks in advance. Happy Holidays!

Disbanding on the game map?
I thought that the game map used to show disbanding of armies. But in a game that just had a retreat phase with some disbands, nothing is shown. Is that intentional?
