Couldn't someone just put a search function on this site? Then you could easily search for a game or a player..

...It wouldn't be hard. It just searches for a certain word on the page you are on. Just hit ctrl+F, type in their name, and press the "next result" button until you find them.

This functionality will be part of the next release.

We're not sure yet, it depends on Kestas' workload. I know I said it was hopefully going to be out by now, but thats what you get with voluntary code. On my side, I know the SVG map (with orders) is unlikely to be finished any earlier than august, which would be almost a year after I started it.

go tot he ghostlist and control-find their name. it'll give you their ID number and you can find their profile like that.

Yea I used the ghost listto find a few people.

I am an old timer so my suggestion is not Geek Empowered by Net 'izens.
If I have RL (Real Life) friends who are on this site and I wan to see their profiles, well.... pick up the phone or take a walk and TALK to your friends and ask them who they are here.
If you cannot talk to them then they are not your RL friends.

How about start a thread called 'Hey John Doe where are you?'

Ah thanks. One of the things this site does is point out all the things I do which are oh so British!
We have that sort of thing where I work, and they have 'coded' messages they send over the tannoys. Sadly their codes are so bad that anyone with a brain would notice!

@Edi - Dude, I got mad respect for you, being a giant in the community and all. However, I said I know their names here, but not being in any games with them (present or past) I was having problems finding their profiles.

Ukla, perhaps Edi meant you can ask them their IDs? I might prefer to use the Ghostlist myself, but talking to them can be quicker if they're around.

My points are this:
a friend is someone you know, knows you and you can count on each other.
Friends know where you live, what your phone number is, what you look like, and that you can be there for them when needed.
All others are a different category.

If you want to know something about someone then ask them. If you have no way to contact them directly then they are not your friends they are simply denizens of the Net, acquaintances, passer bys, fellow hobbyist, maybe even hobby buddies.
So yes, ask them directly their ID's, if that is important, if you cannot contact them directly, then go reach them through their games (see if anyone in their games you have their address) but be prepared for some one to call you out as an Internet Stalker rather than a 'friend in search of friend'.

OMG. I guess the problem is on my end in not explaining exactly what I meant.
My friends are on this site. I have their phone numbers, email addresses, actual addresses, and everything else that you would expect if they were my actual RL friend. I also know their 'name' on this site.
What I wanted to do was check out their profiles to see how they were doing in the games that they might be playing in. However, being that they joined after I spent all my points, we have no games in common either present or past, so I was having a problem finding their names anywhere and, thus, clicking on their names to get to their profiles and see their games.
I repeat.. I know their names on here. I have their phone numbers and I actually do talk to them over the phone and hang out with them. I simply wanted to see how they were doing in the games that they are playing.
I looked through pages and pages of current games looking for them until my head started to swim and then asked the question on this forum.
-sidenote- One of them said hi to me MUCH earlier in this thread and that worked.
-additional sidenote- The F3 trick worked searching for them on the active games page.
I just think it would be a lot easier to have a search function on here to find people and/or games by name. That is all. I apologize for any confusion I may have caused.
