no no no, that's not what my petition is about. i clearly said that i want people to boycott the hate threads.

I do not support conformists. Personally, I want to simply make this place a bit nicer.

There can still be freedom of speech with no one choosing to use the right if you want to get technical.

The only thing technical, is technically, you are trying to wash out the voice of the people, which in previous examples like in germany, russia, have led to genocide and strife. How can you sleep at night with that on your mind?

Well the petition isn't actually going to bring about any changes... I'm not going to start banning controversial threads because a list of people, including me, don't support them. milestailsprower is only exercising his free speech, he's not infringing upon yours. The people who signed his petition probably don't post very often in hate threads anyway.

I wish both of you would start less threads though.

Hey, I'm right there with you about this whole freedom of speech thing. This "milestailsprower" has got to be unbelievably naive to imagine that the internet of all places won't have hate and vitriol. That's part of the whole package. I like the arguing on some level. Without getting too political, I think "tails" would willingly suspend free speech just so no offense is committed. In the U.S. at least, we can actually burn the flag or burn religious icons as part of that sacrosanct right. This is not kindergarten for crying out loud. Milestailsprower has the right to express her views that all of us should be civil and play nice. The rest of us have the right to listen to that or not. A petition won't do a thing.

it is a petition to get people to boycott the threads. not to completely destroy these threads. of course everywhere i go there are hate threads and such, but i'm trying to get people not involved in them. of course they can listen or not.
