Depending who ultimately wins C&D2 will make a huge difference. A loss to THM or Wiz wouldn't be nearly as devastating as a loss to one of the two unrated guys.

Sometimes yes/sometimes no.

Leagues are generally not great due to the meta-aspect where (arguably) sometimes it pays not to solo. OCD has the aspect of introducing a bunch of high quality yet unranked on the GR players. Sometimes you get set date deadlines in games where players generally just default to stalemate afterwards. Just occasionally motivators in tournaments that are counter-productive to GR climbing.

I think ODC probably facilitates GR-climbing more than it doesn't. The incentives of the tournament strongly reward small draws and solos, and in the first round, players who are likely to be eliminated had more incentive than in a normal game to play to encourage a solo (since they could advance if fewer players get many points and if they themselves did well in their second game).

My ODC solo would have probably not occurred outside the tournament, since the incentives of the tournament affected everyone else's plans. But at the same time, the Playdip player in my game (just Daximus I think) was unranked on GR. On balance, probably a big positive effect on my GR.

Hey, out of curiosity, how long typically does it take for the sub-category GRs to be updated? I'm kinda curious as to what my gunboat GR is doing.

Zero issues if there's no set answer to this question - I am not intending to make anyone do extra work in a hurry. :-)
