I think there need to be more solo victories. It's worth researching who your best statistical allies are beforehand.

Nanar

For those of you unfamiliar with the term, Nanar basically means that something is so bad it's good. The purpose of this thread is to share works (movies, tv series, etc...) that are so bad they are good so we can all enjoy a hearty laugh. Comparing Online Diplomacy Sites

I've just joined this site, but have played online Diplomacy before at another site. I wonder why people choose the site(s) they do. For example BOUNCED has an unbeatable interface, but far fewer members than this one. Why is that?

I don't have BE, nor do I expect on getting it anytime soon. I just spent far too much on all the expansions for V. I also don't want to learn a completely new game mechanic at the moment haha

No, I'm not part of a Steam group.

BE is in many respects similar to CIV5 BNW. It is however harder in the sense that your units may be slowly wrecked by miasma (poisonous mists) or wrecked instantly by aliens. You're in a hostile environment.

How is it possible you spent so much money on CIV5? It's on sale almost every month :P

Well, I messed up and didn't buy the complete set when it was on sale, and instead bought the expansion stuff piecemeal. I shelled out $30.00 for Gods and Kings, which was a mistake. Did the math and it didn't make sense for me to buy the complete set anymore, so......yeah it was a big fuckup on my part haha.

Isn't the tech tree completely different now though?

Yes the tech web is quite different. You start in the middle and in my experience you need the surrounding basic techs. But you're entirely free to go anyway you want. You'll mostly be focusing on the Affinity of your choice (researching specific techs will give you affinity points, which you will need to get perks, special units and also important: unit upgrades). It takes a while to get used to but before long you will have a standard way of going. At least, that's how I play.

Just like in civ5, circumstances can influence your tech choices. Also, you will get quests to get certain techs. The victory conditions are actually bigger quests, often depending on techs.
