After my righteous silencing by our esteemed moderator jmo for making vile and underhanded cheating accusations in the forum, http://www.webdiplomacy.net/forum.php?viewthread=1069638#1069638 I’ve had time to think about my behavior and would like to offer a heartfelt apology.
Now, it might appear to the casual observer that when I told StupidFighter “Shut up, Draugnar,” I was only making a lighthearted joke at the expense of one of our favorite (ex) forum members. Nothing could be further from the truth. You see, I truly believed StupidFighter WAS Draugnar, as was clearly observable from the context. I should have taken my concerns to
[email protected] as per standard operating procedure, so that my request may be processed by the bureaucratic order of the administrative team. My accusation was inappropriate and wrongheaded.
It’s also true that somebody else had already been warned in the same thread, and I had forgotten that it is my responsibility to carefully read every post made by a moderator because it might have impact on what I intend to say. I let everybody down with my lack of focus and dedication.
I know, some of you are thinking to yourselves, “but wait a minute, YJ, the rules of the site specify that silencing only occurs ‘when there has been a clear rule violation, as a last resort.’” (http://www.webdiplomacy.net/faq.php) Well, I’d just like to remind you Debbie-doubters that every time in the past that I’ve spammed cheating accusations across the forum, I have been extremely unreasonable when the moderators have told me not to do so. I’ve refused to conform each of the zero times it has happened in the past.
So clearly, there was no alternative for jmo but to act in the manner he did. No amount of friendly warning would have sufficed. No sudden discovery of a fraction of humor by our esteemed moderator would have in any way turned my post into anything but the most loathsome, horrendous, filth that it is. It certainly isn’t the result of a pathetic witch-hunt by a power-tripping moderator who has taken personal issue with your old pal YJ.
I want to thank you, jmo, from the bottom of my heart. As SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR I should never have doubted your sense of duty and perspective. I’ve really seen the light due to your actions. Not only have you saved the forum from me, you’ve saved me from myself. Score one for the good guys, you hero you.
