It is the African governments' policies that ruin their countries that is a disgrace. Full of natural resources, pampered by European aid and overall: no impressive progress by this continent.

What is a disgrace, if Putin, an admitted aducator, who tells people he hates children, and openly confesses that he gives students passing grades they do not deserve to shuffle them through the system....who then defends said system. THAT is the disgrace I see here.

It matters not whether or not something is or is not a policy of the EU - if it is a non-communist government and Putin can even loosely tie something to it, he will inevitably come out and bash it and tell us how evil the government is.

Yes, Putin would rather a government steal your money to fund a rescue operation in a hurricane to find corpses in order to keep people artificially employed....after all, he figures, if the rescue operation produces more corpses, then there will be more jobs burying them. That is Putin logic.

Jamie is technically correct in that Europe generally has left Greece & Italy fend for themselves on immigration, and has done nothing to help them. There is no system in place to distribute the burden of asylum policy. The Turkish land border is sealed off. The only way migrants can get to Europe is through perilous boat journeys like the one that killed 150+ people without any of the Europeans on here saying boo about it.

With the foolish policy of aiding the Syrian and Libyan insurgents, Europe is only going to see more migration in the near future, and they're doing nothing about it. Meanwhile rightwing parties in the southern Mediterranean will gain influence and the holier-than-thou northern European countries will pretend like they don't know why.

They could always, I don't know, immigrate legally. European countries don't have some duty to let in everyone from everywhere without any controls. No country does.

European countries only let rich immigrants in. So if your country is blown to pieces thanks to a civil war the Europeans helped to create, then you're SOL.

European countries let in loads of destitute refugees. I don't know what you're talking about.

But as a general policy, of course a country should only let in immigrants with something to offer their new country. No sense importing peasants when you can target doctors and engineers.
