There are so many interesting articles written about this, ranging from topics of economic effects to the how it impacts individuals with depression and anxiety. This is widely talked about and a lot of articles point to positive changes, but people are still determined to bash it and call it a childish habit, and that people with real lives don't have time for it. I think this has transcended from a game to the status of a quasi-controversial social phenomenon.

Apparently PoodleCorp plans to DDoS Pokemon GO's servers for 24 hours on August 1st. Not for Australia ;) (he says as a US resident)

Will be released in Japan "by the end of July."

OurMine are also claiming responsibility for previous server downings, but they also say they're primarily just trying to show the people running the game how to protect the servers from further attacks.

Apparently it went down in Puerto Rico but it's available there again. I hope it never stopped being available in other territories.
