Is there a way to do a multi-way conversation?
It's super annoying that it doesn't seem to be possible to broadcast a message to two people, and have conversations involving more than just two people. I guess you can just relay between the three/four of you, but that's super annoying. Is there a workaround?

How is one's position (rank) calcuated?
The FAQ explains how points are won and lost but does not explain how one goes up or down in ranking. Intuitively, the more one wins, the higher one climbs but I would really appreciate a detailed understanding of how one's position is determined. I've seen players of extremely high rank with a relatively low percentage of wins.

Using CD as a tactic
So some CDs imo should not be counted in reliability rating. For example if there is only one option like destroying your unit.

Example game on Wikibooks
There's a sample game on the Wikibooks page. It's a TERRIBLE game. What would be a good sample game to show?
jbalcorn (429 D)
29 May 15 UTC
The game on the page is http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=58803 . Italy CDs in 1901, France CDs later and Austria asks if he can Resign in the public chat. A terrible example.

I'd think a League game with a lot of interesting public chat is what you'd want people to see when they're looking into what Diplomacy is. Suggestions?

How about gameID=17149 ? Solo win, no NMR, 3 eliminations, 2 minor survives and a major survive.

This one was very exciting. Shows the importance small countries play in preventing a solo:

Why would someone form a gunboat (no communication) game LIVE with 10 minute deadlines? I get it for negotiating games but it takes you 10 minutes to figure out your moves in a gunboat game?

Heh, I'm probably too biased toward my own full press games. But I'll post anyway because nostalgia.

"Walk to the Curb" gameID=98520 had me and UCLA as best frenemies forever, while Kyle FC would probably prefer to forget my own World Cup game gameID=97655 ever happened.

I also drew a whole bunch of games with Ghug, the last being a Triathlon game gameID=94180 if you don't count the aborted Henry Kissinger's Apex. "Full Disclosure" gameID=89081 was a lot of fun too.

Also really enjoyed my first brush with MadMarx in "Power of Diplomacy" gameID=80847.

This one was exciting throughout:
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=156307#gamePanel

I was Germany, Austria wanted an Abschluss and he got one, just not the way he had in mind.
I still think I could have won somehow, even though the entire board instantly united against me..

Anyway I went from 8 to 13 in 1905, which I think is a decent achievement.

I guess it's because of the Leagues that people preferred being eliminated over working with me.

Advice on that one is welcome!

This game had a pretty basic ending and featured three pretty basic alliances (R/T, E/F, CPA), which I think makes it a decent example. There wasn't anything crazy that someone who has never seen a Diplomacy board before couldn't understand. It was just a good, fair game all around.

Also, there was an EOG thread, which could be a good thing to link alongside the game (threadID=1248729).

Bonus points if it ended in a solo or draw that was _not_ a direct result of all the CDs / sitters / replacements.
