I would give Maniac the MVP, he ran this town very well and asked OB to do said rant. Though I fucked up the payoff by deciding to kill ghug.

I always like doing end of game where I type my thoughts on each of the players.
1. ghug – Well, your play wasn’t bad. You seemed like you had a good grasp on things.
2. uclabb – You seem like a strong player. Maybe you should do what Captain Meme does and lurk through the first bit so you can make it to an endgame one day.
3. Captainmeme – You seem like a strong player. I’m not sure why you lurked early game though. It may have been a good thing though as it helps having a strong player in end game.
4. Maniac – I may have been exaggerating calling you the best scum player, but you are definitely an excellent one. I didn’t think you were scum until after I died and before I had access to the god qt. You should join a mafia forum and wreak havoc there. You would fit right in. Mafia MVP imo
5. Mintyboy4 – As I said in the God thread I think you played a great game. Just devote less energy to catching up on all those posts. Only skim them if you have to. Focus more on interacting with other people early game. It’s a lot more fun.
6. Chaqa – Fakeclaiming cop was a smart thing to do and was pretty well done.
7. tvrocks – Well, you got lynched day 1 which sucks but good effort.
8. Jeff Kuta – Your day 1 tactic was bad but after that you played a great and unique game. I look forward to future games with you.
9. Yoyoyozo – Early game you were awesome. Late game you sucked big time.
10. VashtaNeurotic – Well, credit must be given. You had a bunch of townies believing you were town somehow which gave you the win. I have no idea how but you obviously played a good game. I just wish they didn’t ignore my case on you :/.
11. phil_a_s – ehhh, nice save on Warden. :/
12. Fuzzyhartle – Other than your alleged slip, I don’t really remember you. Your slip gave a crap ton of juicy info for town though.
13. ALEXTREME333 – RIP. Why you get banned?
14. guak – You were really really scummy. I was so sure you were scum.
15. OB_Gyn_Kenobi – Your rant was one of the highlights of the game for me after I found out it was fake.
17. stupidfighter – You did your best and I appreciated the effort you put in. While you were wrong on a lot of things this game I suspect you will become a great player with more experience.
18. DeathLlama9 – Your mafia partners told you to lurk until they could bus you and you did. I’m not sure if that was selfish or selfless.
19. President Eden – I thought you were town for FWIW because playing like the way you did just gets you caught and its too risky as scum. I was wrong and you still got caught so w/e.
20. drano019 – The fact that you got nightkilled when there were 3 confirmed towns roaming about is a testimony to your good play. Good Job!
21. thdfrance – Hahaha, sorry but getting shot N1 by the vig two games in a row is pretty funny. I thought you played day 1 pretty good FWIW.
22. WardenDresden – Shot two mafias and led the lynch on another. Town MVP.

I still can't believe I didn't see though OB's rant, which in retrospect has no logical basis for actually being posted by an "angry" mafia member. Though the fact that only Maniac really called be out on it right before ghug was NK'd really should've tipped me off enough to go all out on him. Regardless, well played by you two lasting scum.

A note to vanilla townies, never be afraid to be nightkilled. It means you're doing your job right, even if you're completely wrong about your reads.

No, Vash, I think killing ghug that night was a great idea for you. From my perspective it basically killed my credibility, and I had already shown more than enough indication that I wasn't capable of successfully leading the town further. ghug on the other hand might have been able to get the town to rally and get to the right votes.

Vash, out of curiosity, I assume you would have killed captainmeme had the game continued? Maniac was letting you run the show at the end there but if he has a different idea, he can speak up too.

@ghug/WD - regardless of who died between you two, the other's credibility would have been smashed. I would have gone for WD personally because ghug could have gotten lynched, but at the same time, every mafia member ever on this site is fearful of ghug because he is so damn convincing. I have no issues with that play and I think it basically evens out.

I could have definitely convinced people to lynch maniac but I just didn't have enough time in the day to post as often as I use to. I said before that the majority of my time on webdip is on my phone and I LOST IT! :(

If you guys read our QT, I like to think we had pretty solid gameplans from the beginning. I was always planning to copclaim, and we had Maniac picked as our game-winner from early.

The only real setbacks we had that weren't expected were Eden's nightkill and OB getting scanned.

I'm about to read through the mafia QT now. Just finished reading the god one. Certainly interesting.

I posted this because I thought it would make it less likely he would die. If the mafia knew I was expecting a ghug kill, (I hoped) they would assume I had a case on who was mafia which would be proven if ghug died. I needed ghug alive because he was one of the few people who was voting Vashta, and I honestly wanted one of Warden/Phil to die because they weren't.

I was not convinced of Minty's alignment anymore. By the end of the phase, I was reading Maniac much more strongly as town than I was Minty, because from Maniac's play (making eccentric cases and following them up strongly despite having ridiculous evidence) really struck me as a townie so convinced that someone was guilty that he was trying to find any way to get them lynched. As I said previously, had Vashta gotten lynched I probably would have voted Minty the next day.

I was much more convinced of Vashta, but I couldn't get enough people there.

I think you misunderstood my statement here. I was not lurking with the specific intention of coming out and solving everything - I was lurking because I couldn't keep up with the thread and didn't have any evidence. Then it all fell into place (albeit it wasn't correct, but I felt it was at the time) for me, so I felt confident enough to start properly talking, despite still not having caught up properly.
I think you took it as me lurking from the start with the intention of coming out later. I was fully intending to contribute earlier, but I couldn't keep up enough to do so.

FTR, I don't think your play was bad - it certainly marked you as town in my mind, which was a good result. It also gave an easy lynch target to the mafia, which is always useful as it gives something we can analyse in terms of voting. It was weird play, certainly, but strange does not equal bad.

I'm really sorry about your lynch. I'll admit that my case against you was heavily flawed - I knew this at the time. I seriously believed you to be scum, but I knew that I couldn't just say to the rest of the town 'This makes a hell of a lot of sense in my mind' and expect them to follow me onto the vote, especially when I'd barely said anything before that point. I went back through your posts and deliberately made as much of it as possible seem bad (so you were right about me lying), just to try to make sure people followed me.

It was a massive mistake, and I apologise for that.

@captainmeme: Thanks for the explanation. Fair enough. After I was lynched, I didn't keep up with all the nuances of the game, though I checked in fairly frequently to see what was going on.

Thx for the nominations for MVP - It is interesting to see what others thought of how I played. Asking OB to rant was just a whim rather than a well constructed game-plan we were lucky that warden fell for that so convincingly and me switching from trying to include Ghug in unknown pool to actively defending him was again taken without much thought but gave me a lot of cred with capt I believe.

I'm also helped by fact everyone read me so much as mafia in prev games so when they are concerned about me often ignored their concerns and put it down to maniac being maniac. I didn't expect to make it to the end, I'm always lynched early so wasn't scared of dying just wanted to take some townies with me.

Capt was right that my early push on DL was to gain cred as I thought he would be mod killed or lynched. If he survived and I died later the 'cried' would be his.

I was going to play blind initially with so many mafia, I didn't look who my partners were until after my d1 reads. I messages Bo to tell me mafia buddies I wouldn't join them until later in the game, but he wouldn't. If I'm mafia again in a big game and I don't show up at night, I'm keeping myself in the dark. I'd appreciate thoughts on this idea?

Whilst it wasn't a game plan initially, I did realise that my high post rate was deterring people from building a case against me. I cringed at some of my slips but can understand why people couldn't see them in amongst so many words. The more people complained about being busy the more I posted.

I really thought my case against minty would be heralded as solving the puzzle. If I'd have been town and made that case, I would be so frustrated no one was listening.

On whole really enjoyed the game. With all power roles playing so well I think we won because of imbalance and some townies playing bad (Jeff, fuzzy,) rather than mafia being exceptional. Sorry Jeff, you're intent was good, but giving you life easy to mafia just makes it easy for mafia to run up two innocents.

Bo - yeah I was pretty happy for Vash to run mafia show.

Bo has chastised me a little for asking for personal info in game. Yoyo's application link, minty's train route. Apologies if I've overstepped the mark.

I don't think it's an issue of personal privacy, but I do think it's an useless play, and I hope you'll never do it if you're town.

I think bo meant who would mafia have killed if a mafia would've been lynched. I'd have killed phil if they'd killed you. Then gone after yoyo and then Minty.

Yeah, essentially. I would have gone with captainmeme since nobody was calling you out for blindly following phil except for him.

@ghug ... I told him that there are some people on the internet that either hide their identity or don't want to reveal their identity for their own personal reasons (or security reasons), and if he asks for an "alibi" as he called it and they refused, it would come off as scummy, and that's really not fair. I should have just stopped it right away when it began and I probably would have if he were town, but I realized it was simply a time-consuming diversion, so I let it be.

any idea when the next will start (also, to explain the reason why i did not try to tie it up i had just made cases on two people who i legitimately believed were mafia and who were leading wagons against me. I considered that reason enough to let myself get killed. also, trying to save myself in that situation by roleclaiming or causing a no lynch would have been very scummy. (it is not usual to find a mafia member first turn anyway, and info would be gained from my death, although the claims against me were flawed.) it's a shame that i didn't ty causing a deathllama lynch as that would have probably at least given me another day.

Vashta, do you have an idea yet?

Probably Late Feb/Early March. May hold a boot camp for it (have people join me playing Town of Salem to get used to some mechanics). Sign ups will go up in like a week.
