He argues that non-water drinks in moderation are OK, while water is just a straight-up necessity for our body so it must be better than these other drinks that can cause problems in excess. My point is that water can cause problems in excess and does need to be consumed in moderation as well. And on top of that, say I were to drink gallons upon gallons of slightly flavored water with a little bit of sodium in it, compared with gallons upon gallons of straight-up water. The latter pure water would probably cause issues quicker than the flavored water that won't cause hyponatremia as quickly due to the sodium intake. Point being, blanket statements like 'nothing is better than water' is simplistic and ignorant if you actually want to debate what's healthy for the human body and what isn't.
