mafia is an odd game sometimes, i don't think I've contributed much in last three games, but here I am top point scorer in last 4 games. :)

New scoring system needed?

Yeah. This game we just played, people who were super involved in the process got the same score as ND and HR, who contributed next to nothing to the town victory.

This I disagree with. How well one does as scum is not at all indicative of overall skill, all it is is "how do I not get lynched and who do we kill". Also, 75% of the time you simply won't be playing as scum, so to say one is "good at mafia" you almost certainly have to be good as town (also scum had quite a winning streak). Not to mention there almost seems to be an inverse proportionality with how good players are at town vs how they are as scum.

The scoring system is irrelevant just look at wins and losses. especially how people perform as certain roles. for example ive been a regular towny 50% of my games.

I have my predetermined feelings about basically anyone that plays mafia regardless of their wins and losses. A scoring system doesn't change any of that.

Umm....bb, that's false. I've played 3 games as scum. I survived to the end the first time. Conceded the second time (due to the bullshit Angel role protecting the two people we NEEDED to kill) and was actually lynched only the third time.

Bb, we don't track statistics. We track records. We don't have any complex or meaningful number crunching here. If you're on the right team for whatever reason - other players, a favorable setup, or whatever - you'll win. Town this past game was the first time I've really seen the winning side totally earn it as opposed to the other side giving it away with some breaks and opportunities that wouldn't have been there otherwise.

This. A lot of the time luck or imbalanced roles play a huge part in the end, and can easily win out over skill. For example in a game on another site we have two competing mafia faction who can either kill or take a 50% chance to convert a player each night, along with each faction having special abilities/players that could affect the chance of conversion. In this game the competing faction to mine (I rolled one of the mafia) has had 6 players killed, mine has had 4 (including me because I was taken out by a conversion attempt (like masoning a cultist in reverse)). However, we are only up by 1 member and not 2 because they had 4 successful conversions and we only had 3. Not to mention I only survived day 1 (along with another member of my faction) due to pure luck, along with dodging a day kill due to someone else being targeted out of spite. I.E despite playing pretty well, rng may still have screwed over my faction.
(Not to mention all the times in our games where broken roles (like Angel or Equalizer) has made it hard for mafia to win.

i feel like there should be a new rule; anytime a GM admits they created a bullshit PR that ruined a game, they should not be allowed to create setups for a while.

could we get some confirmation of the following:

1. M22 is actually being reviewed by the council?

2. there actually is an M22 with ghug as GM.

3. ETA on sign ups.

4. ETA on start date

5. game size

6. setup type (vanilla?)

7. why after M20 and M19 there was a massive horde of people demanding these things but for whatever reason nobody is even curious over a week after M21 is over?

this is why we created the council in the first place to provide prompt fair rapid setup review and smooth quick transitions from game tp game.

I thought we specifically outlawed this whole dragging it out stuff after M19.

I agree with Brainbomb. Please could the Council of Ultimate Authority convene at the earliest opportunity and provide us with an update on plans for the next round?

I enjoyed GM-ing, and would love to do it again a few months down the line, but I'm also keen to get back into playing.

@Jamiet did you learn anything watching how various people played this game? I found in sitting out M20 and GMin 2 discord games that its alot easier to read people after being an observer for a game.
