So the overly postponed Floodgates interaction post is arriving:
We start off on page one. He comes in early to offer condolences to ghug, but #FuckGhug (which was how both goldfinger and myself responded), and goldie puts in a vote on Floodgates. I suggest Flood might be less familiar with ghug, so goldie asks if that is the case. Floodgates does not respond.
Page one contains Vecna's probably joking PR claim, and when Vecna writes a post voting for himself for PR fishing, Floodgates copy-pastes the same post, putting his vote on Vecna. When MF and xorxes get in a spat about Judge's powers and when/how to use them, Floodgates gets involved saying:
"I think each ability has it's place and time. I wouldn't call one more powerful or helpful than the other..."
From page one, we jump to page 4, where Flood asks if this is DDaniel's first time playing this game. This is about the time DD starts taking some heat, and Flood x-posts with Moscow, as both suggest he never slipped, and Flood says DDaniel comes off as annoying. A little later, Double B mentions Floodgates as one of the people growing on his radar.
Just after is a noteworthy interaction between Floodgates and bo:
From Floodgates: "I wouldn't read too far into new players posts just yet... give them some time to settle in! I know first hand what it's like jumping into a game with an evolved meta like this. M20 was my first game here and I came under suspicion pretty early (as a townie nonetheless) for posts that I thought were totally innocuous!"
From bo: "@Floodgates ... giving new players "time to settle in" is a great way for mafia to sneak them under the rug."
This is noteworthy because we now know we had/have scum of relatively new stature, and Floodgates would know that. This is the ultimate hint at a newbie scum team.
Floodgates also said about DDaniel:
"He may very well be confused (as he says) or he may actually be scum, squirming under the pressure placed on him by being voted for at such an early stage. Keep yer eyes on this one guys."
On page five Floodgates criticizes the brain's play regarding DammmmmmmmmDaniel, calling him chaotic and passive about supporting the wagon, and Mr. Bomb retorts criticizing Floodgates for fixating on him.
Interesting to note here:
Floodgates has spent a lot of time talking about DD, but his vote remains on Vecna at this point. His tone is suspicious overall of DDaniel as well, though he suggested not looking much into new players' posts. I get the feeling we won't get much from going after reedeer based on this.
On the next page, the conversation continues. Here, Floodgates says:
"I'm not advocating a push on Daniel, nor am I telling you to lay off him"
This makes me feel less confident in my writing this stream-of-consciousness style at nearly 1 in the morning.
But yeah there's this spat between Double B and the FG. Floodgates seems to be trying to convince people the brain wants to hammer and is being hedgy about getting Double D lynched, but Double B ain't havin' that shit, because he just wants to get on questioning people to find scum.
Later, brain says the following:
"This is spooky. I might die protecting dammdaniel my scum teammate whos never played before but knows what bussing is. sexy."
And both myself and Floodgates pick up on it, considering bussing had not been mentioned up to that point. However, even after it seemed pretty clearly some sort of reaction test or joke of some sort, Floodgates remains pretty fixated on it, as evidenced by the following statement:
"@brainbomb - Nobody (to my knowledge) accused you and Daniel of being scum buddies. You came up with that yourself, as well as the bussing statement."
To this, brainbomb lays out a pretty detailed response explaining his choice of words.
When Ogion shows up, Double B asks how he feels about Floodgates among other people, to which Ogion responds he has no clue about Floodgates.
On page 8 (yeah, only at page 8) Mr. Bomb accuses bo of buddying Floodgates for giving softball dossiers instead of questions, in reference to the aforementioned chat between bo and Floodgates about new players settling in.
When Vecna starts posting stories, Floodgates calls them fascinating.
Then I was too tired to sum up the post, so here's a copy-paste from Floodgates:
"@brainbomb - I'm sorry, it appears you misinterpreted my earlier post. My point was that the first 24 hours and first few pages shouldn't really be held too severely against newer players. At that point they are still learning the meta of the game and the site. Let them 'settle in'. Don't push at them toooo hard - I know first hand how everything you say can be interpreted as 'scummy' while you are still getting a feel for the meta.
And I'm not trying to 'buddy' anyone. I'm wouldn't let anyone off the hook on the first day, new or not. I'm just advocating for holding judgement until they have got a few posts under their belt and have seen how general interactions take place."
Page 10 Maniac votes for Floodgates, and peterlund very heavily suggests his belief in Floodgates being trustworthy and townie, part of which is by extension of his faulty logic suggesting bb is scum and everyone "growing on his radar" had to be town.
This concludes part 1 because I need to sleep. This is just the first 10 pages of the thread.
