It made me pretty uncomfortable sitting on the bench near it. It was a red cardinal
I wonder why it died, and if marxism had something to do with it. I decided to sit inside instead and listen to some modest mouse.

I blame Abraham Lincoln
He screwed over the south's economy without granting them an alternative, devastated their homeland and subjugated them to the union. There's no coincidence that these people's descendants elected Trump today. They have been disenfranchised and alienated and economically subjugate since before 1860. We are paying for the sins of our fathers.

The union should've bought the slaves' freedom the same way Britain did.

HOLD UP HOLD UP

Obama's deportation record is MASSIVELY inflated

in 2009, the way they measured Deportations was changed. now: if someone goes to the border and tries to cross, or applies for citizenship, and does not cross at that time (even if he gets in later!!!) it counts as a "deportation" or otherwise a "reduction" a common linguistic term

Obama did not deport more, he changed the standards for deportation to make himself seem like he was doing something

Lol. I am just citing his position on his website. You can make up whatever you want Brain. He is calling for deporting criminal, illegal, aliens who committed violent crimes first. I don't know his plans for the remaining 30 million so I'll leave that to expound upon in a future policy position.

@James: I don't trust any source from the Obama government. He has politicized the entire executive branch and the entire federal bureaucracy to levels previously unheard of in former administrations. Any source from them is most likely cooked.

Pew may be the best source that you listed, but really we don't know the extent of the Obama policies in this regard. He has signed executive actions delaying and in some cases preventing deportations. He has also seriously weakened the border. Honestly, we just don't know how many are here. 30 million may be a very liberal estimate, but I assure you it is more than 11 million.
ND (879 D)
03 Nov 16 UTC
For now I am just going to use my liberal estimate as a high end point.

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/immigration

1. Begin working on an impenetrable physical wall on the southern border, on day one. Mexico will pay for the wall.

2. End catch-and-release. Under a Trump administration, anyone who illegally crosses the border will be detained until they are removed out of our country.

3. Move criminal aliens out day one, in joint operations with local, state, and federal law enforcement. We will terminate the Obama administration’s deadly, non-enforcement policies that allow thousands of criminal aliens to freely roam our streets.

( NOTE FOR ND: what makes someone a "criminal alien?" it doesnt say?)

4. End sanctuary cities.

(What does ENDING them mean? how? what is the plan here?)

5. Immediately terminate President Obama’s two illegal executive amnesties. All immigration laws will be enforced - we will triple the number of ICE agents. Anyone who enters the U.S. illegally is subject to deportation. That is what it means to have laws and to have a country.

6. Suspend the issuance of visas to any place where adequate screening cannot occur, until proven and effective vetting mechanisms can be put into place.

7. Ensure that other countries take their people back when we order them deported.

8. Ensure that a biometric entry-exit visa tracking system is fully implemented at all land, air, and sea ports.

9. Turn off the jobs and benefits magnet. Many immigrants come to the U.S. illegally in search of jobs, even though federal law prohibits the employment of illegal immigrants.

(Who is doing this? if we know about them why isnt congress passing any bills to target them? if we dont know about them, how will Trump being President find them, if we havent already?)

10. Reform legal immigration to serve the best interests of America and its workers, keeping immigration levels within historic norms.

(Historic norms? were actually at lower levels of illegal immigration relative to our overall population now.)
JamesYanik (548 D)
03 Nov 16 UTC
he's been attributing ICE border deportation in a way no other president has

the problem is, all of this data is not made available to the public pre-2008. Now we just have Obama's word that it was all the same, while the actual records never distinguished a difference

maybe it wasn't Obama directly, but it was the Democrats

thats off his website. it doesnt say violent criminals, doesnt say drug dealers. it just says criminals. which, is laughably... all illegal immigrants as thats a crime. so if they are illegal, walking down the street, then they are a criminal.

This is off his website.

Just quoting it all for you.

by the way this is off his website.

ICE says that in fiscal year 2015 (Oct. 1, 2014, to Sept. 30, 2015) the agency began implementing the Obama administration’s "clearer and more refined" civil immigration enforcement priorities, with emphasis on the removal of convicted felons over non-criminals.

As a result, there were fewer removals in fiscal 2015 (235,413) than in fiscal 2014 (315,943), ICE said.

That’s a single-year decrease of 25.5 percent.

‘Down 40 percent and at a nine-year low’

**CHECKMATE**

AHAHAHAHA wow. Yanik, I would kiss you if you werent such a smiley lil twat.
ND (879 D)
03 Nov 16 UTC
I stand corrected about the 'violent' part.

Well I guess it will depend on the enforcement policies of the administration and ICE in terms of who is deported. I imagine it will start with violent criminals and drug cartels. At least it is the start of a plan on securing the southern border and dealing with the problem. Still 100000000000000000000x better than amnesty and legalizing a crime and legalizing citizenship for violent criminals like Hillary Clinton wants to do.
ND (879 D)

were already doing that ND as the above article states. and the numbers were nowhere near 11 million, or 30 billion. was it 30 billion? or was it 300 billion illegals. I cant remember. maybe it was only 30 trillion.

ohhh 30 million. okay.

oh no, i know that article was wrong in its claim, i wasn't arguing that. I was arguing that despite most charts you'll see, interior deportations are down.

also.... the reason why Politifact rated it "mostly true" is because they could;t find the data before 2008, b/c it wasn't measured correctly.

so screw you Bush. Always leads back to him....

I was hopeful that Trump would actually stick to his primary words and deport ALL illegal immigrants, though his wording grew more moderate each day during August, when he seemed to be testing out how voters would respond to more liberal messages.

@"ND

Well at least you can claw a little bit of my respect back on that one (not that i think my respect matters to you...)

I would point out the impact on LGBT people that a hypothetical vote would have. We saw in Ireland a referendum on marriage equality, and many of my LGBT friends felt more stressed than usual coming up to the vote. No surprise there - research later showed that it was negative for their mental health.

The vote for Brexit leads to an increase in xenophobic attacks - ie verbal abuse in the streets, British citizens being told they should 'go home', etc.

I suspect that Trump being elected will make all the Xenophobes more vocal, it will make life harder for any american who happens to be non-white. And i don't think it will help LGBT people either. Basically *some* Trump supporters will see their victory as a justification of their views - that *most* people agree with them, and that gays or muslims or immigrants should all just leave.

Hence, regardless of how liberal Trump happens to be on LGBT issues, his victory will he a bad thing for Americans who happen to be Othered, whether being of Latino descent, or LGBT, or any combination of not white enough, nor straight enough, nor cis enough, nor wealthy enough. (When was the last time you saw a media report about rich immigrants needing to be deported?)
TrPrado (461 D)
03 Nov 16 UTC
When's the last time you heard of a rich illegal immigrant.

Your daily polling data has Hillary and Trump now in a tie in Colorado according the Denver University. And New Hampshire now at +1 for Trump. However Clinton is back to +3 in 6/7 h2h polls.

orathaic (1009 D(B))
03 Nov 16 UTC
@TrPrado, do you mean the law makes it easier for rich people to emigrate? interesting theory...
TrPrado (461 D)
03 Nov 16 UTC
There's also a point of the rich having less drive to migrate.

Your love for Hillary is astounding. You people honestly believe that you're more intelligent than Trump supporters?
