Aaron Rodgers rained all over Da Bears' parade, leading the Pack to victory and setting up another classic Niners/Packers clash...only this time, at Lambeau Field. A typical Cowboys/Eagles clash ended in the typical Cowboy way...but it was Orton throwing the season-ending pick this time. The NFC: SEA, CAR, PHI, GB, SF, NO. The AFC: DEN, NE, CIN, IND, KC, SD. The Playoffs...PICK 'EM!

Why would you sign a backup punter, or kicker for that matter? Punters and kickers have at some point, likely in high school, if not college, player both positions. Pat McAfee (Colts punter, potentially future kicker; I've seen him hit 55-yarders in training camp) played both at West Virginia. Hell, he also played soccer. They all know how to do both. Sure, they won't be pinning opponents at the 2 or knocking down game winning 60-yarders, but you don't need to use up two spots when you could have some special teams blockers or extra linemen instead.
Fasces, I'm actually relieved that you don't know about Tebow's situation because ESPN has an orgasm every time he steps out in public. He was a third-string quarterback that won a few games in Denver, yet he's more famous than 90% of the starters in the NFL. Just shows how stupid the media can make people, and just how stupid they can be.
ERAUfan, I don't know who the Pats backups are, but the backup QB is often the holder. Hell, sometimes the starting QB is the holder. That's typically their job so that if there is a fake, there's someone with an arm and a brain, both made for throwing, with the ball in hand.
He is already right next to Rodgers, Manning, Brady, and Brees, in no particular order. Next year he could very easily be right with them when Reggie Wayne comes back and the O-line starts healthy (particularly Donald Thomas, who is an absolute beast). No one will recognize him for it till those four retire, though. He's special. I still make fun of the people around here that said we should draft RG3 instead.
