You should all learn this - HR will always go for the culture victory. I will always go for the science victory because HR takes the early cultural wonders and I give up.

Thing is, I had a 3-5 tech advantage in that game, too. I only changed to culture victories when I realised they were all happy to hand me Open Borders in a tiny map where I'd converted an AI to my religion as well. It's just that I had tech inferiority for so long, and they turned city states right down low so Diplomatic wasn't possible (despite being top of GDP by a longg way) that I had to go culture.

Doesn't a Diplomatic Victory become easier with few city states? The amount of votes needed becomes ridiculously low, I thought.

Not when someone is busy conquering the few that are left :(

Btw, what do you guys think about doing, like, just a bit of rp in Civ? I always liked matches where all the countries where europe's 16-19th century powers? So like, in Civ5 it could be like Russia, France, Poland, Netherlands, Spain etc.

I quite like that idea tonight, yassem. Themed countries on a themed map for example. (Asian countries on Asia, European on Europe, African on Africa, Mediterranean on Mediterranean etc etc). I sometimes do that on SP.
