I suggest that Kestas can implement a searching system in phpDiplomacy, enabling us to search for players' names and game names, instead of using CTRL+F blindly everytime, hoping that you'll get the name you want in that page.

What do you guys think?

(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)? Father Republican, Mother Democrat
(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)? Both Deist; father raised Buddhist, mother raised Christian of some sort
(4) What is your race? Half-Japanese, half-Caucasian
(5) What is your national origin? American -.-
(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours? 99.999% (How many half-Japanese, quarter-French, quarter-German people do I know? I have no idea)
(7) What region of the world do you live in? California. Hell yeah.
(8) What is the employment status of your parent(s), respectively, and what are (is) their income(s), respectively? Not answerin'
(9) What is your sex? Not answerin'. Nah, male.
(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex? .... 60-90% maybe?
(11) How many friends do you have, approximately? Dozens. I don't count often. <_<;
(12) What is the nature of your education? High School Senior thus far
(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you. I'd say a solid 30-50% like me, less than fifteen people dislike me, and the rest are indifferent.

What's your doctorate in, diplomat1824?

I'm a little suspicious that you're not telling the truth since you wrote "Ph.D" while the usual abbreviations are either "Ph.D." or "PhD". It just seems like someone who spent years working for a degree of such prestige would make it a point to abbreviate it right. I know I would.

They'd also mention what their specialty is.

As everyone else is doing it (and I agree they're quite interesting):
(1) What is your religious affiliation? Agnostic/Church of England
(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)? Both conservative (by UK standards mind!)
(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)? Both strong C of E
(4) What is your race? Caucasian
(5) What is your national origin? Great Britain
(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours? 35% I guess, depends how wide you measure 'friends'
(7) What region of the world do you live in? Great Britian
(8) What is the employment status of your parents? In senior jobs for the NHS and UK armed forces
(9) What is your gender? Male
(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex? .... 60-90% maybe?
(11) How many friends do you have, approximately? Depends on definition, but quite enough thanks :)
(12) What is the nature of your education? Off to university later this year
(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you. I love this question :P Almost all of them - i can only think of two people in any of my classes who genuinely dislikes me - and I go to state school so that's a low percentage
---
Hmm, that's quite an interesting profile of me!
Captain Dave (113 D)
23 Feb 09 UTC
Figle, presuming it's your Mum that works in the NHS (and sorry if it's the other way around), what does she do? Is she a nurse that's been pigeonholed into a management job, or is she actually doing the job that she was trained to do?
I only ask because the trust at which my Mum works (the one that had all the C Diff deaths, btw) seems to be incapable of employing anyone in a management post who's actually qualified to be there or is good at the job...
Captain Dave (113 D)
23 Feb 09 UTC
And because I'm bored:

(1) What is your religious affiliation? Atheist
(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)? I think my Mum is a Tory, my Dad probably would be if it wasn't for Margaret Thatcher. So now he votes Lib Dem (*sob*).
(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)? Mum C of E, Dad Agnostic/C of E (not sure exactly where he stands)
(4) What is your race? Caucasian
(5) What is your national origin? Almost exclusively English, it would appear (apart from the one set of great-great-great-(great?)-grandparents who were from Glasgow)
(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours? This is a victim of circumstance, probably 5-10%
(7) What region of the world do you live in? UK
(8) What is the employment status of your parents? Both are employed, Mum in NHS, Dad for Met Police (not a Police Officer, though).
(9) What is your gender? Male
(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex? Hard to judge, I went to an all-boys grammar school so have few female friends at home, but I studied German at uni, so more female friends from there. I'd say about 45-50%
(11) How many friends do you have, approximately? Plenty
(12) What is the nature of your education? BA (Hons)
(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you. N/A

But what does all of this have to do with lowered taxes?
Please stay on topic.
figlesquidge (2131 D)
23 Feb 09 UTC
Taxes are fine the way they are, although 17.5% VAT was better.

Dave, it is my mother yes. No, she's not a nurse, she's a consultant and head of training.
Captain Dave (113 D)
23 Feb 09 UTC
So (presumably) she's doing a job she was trained to do! That's good to know. I think it would suffice to say that I'm not the biggest fan of some of the NHS's systems, or at least those in place at my Mum's trust!

(1) What is your religious affiliation? Christian (Reformed Church)
(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)? Christian Democratic
(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)? Christian (same as above)
(4) What is your race? Caucasian
(5) What is your national origin? Dutch
(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours? Less than 5%, I fear.
(7) What region of the world do you live in? Holland
(8) What is the employment status of your parents? Dunno the english word.
(9) What is your gender? Male
(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex? I guess, 30-40% approximate.
(11) How many friends do you have, approximately? Around 20.
(12) What is the nature of your education? University
(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you. - Hard to guess, haven't got much close contacts with classmates. I think about 80% would like me :)

OK, I'll give it a go...

(1) What is your religious affiliation? Evangelical Lutheran, but I disagree with some of the principles.
(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)? US Republican
(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)? Evangelical Lutheran
(4) What is your race? Caucasian
(5) What is your national origin? Mostly German, but my last name is Scottish/English taken by Scottish nobles when they got English lands so they'd fit in better with the English peasnats and nobles nearby.
(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours? 15%
(7) What region of the world do you live in? Kentucky, USA
(8) What is the employment status of your parent(s), respectively, and what are (is) their income(s), respectively? Retired Engineer, Retired "Politico" (Mom ran the Republican party HQ for years when I was growing up, and has served on city council and as a county commisioner)
(9) What is your sex? Male
(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex? 60-70 or more. My company is 80% female.
(11) How many friends do you have, approximately? close friends - about 8. Friends from work who I'll see at parties and have a laugh with - 50 or so.
(12) What is the nature of your education? Associates Degree in Science - Computer Engineering. Numerous certifications in various IT technologies (MS, Sun, Lotus, etc).
(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you. School doesn't apply, but I get along with all of my coworkers (I treat them better than you folks <grin>) and would have to say 90% genuinely like me and I like them.

Abortion: No point disallowing it.
Gay marriage: Irrelevant.
Gun control: Less.
Death penalty: No.
Affirmative action: No.
Iraq/Afghanistan: Stay until they have a democracy (you must realise, this was quite some time ago).
Pork-barrel spending: Has anyone EVER publicly supported this?
Role of government: Small except where necessary (you know, I should probably define that)
Armed forces: What for?
NASA: Huge budget. In favour of the moon base, yes, because it's cool.
Air travel: Direct flights. Duh.
Health care: Universal as long as people are still partially responsible for themselves.
Taxes: Tax cuts for everyone, whenever the government can afford it (that means never).
Welfare: Let states vote to waste money however they choose, without federal interference.

I suppose I'll drop one as well. I am also curious about diplomat's PhD. School? Year? Subject of our dissertation? Where can I find it published? Where are you now? Are you on tenure-track somewhere?

Alright.

(1) What is your religious affiliation? None

(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)? Democratic Party

(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)? Jewish and Lutheran

(4) What is your race? White/Romani

(5) What is your national origin? United States

(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours? 10%? Maybe more depending on how exact your racial categories are.

(7) What region of the world do you live in? American Midwest, Chicago.

(8) What is the employment status of your parent(s), respectively, and what are (is) their income(s), respectively? Retired and retired. Probably a joint income of 200,000 dollars per year at the height of their careers.

(9) What is your sex? Male

(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex? 50%, maybe slightly more.

(11) How many friends do you have, approxamately? Depending on your definition of 'friend', between 10 and 60.

(12) What is the nature of your education? Collegiate.

(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you. Depends heavily on the class, most people are probably indifferent.

So. Uh. What was that dissertation about?
Chrispminis (916 D)
24 Feb 09 UTC
Hooray!

(1) What is your religious affiliation? Atheist Agnostic
(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)? Mom is liberal, Dad is conservative.
(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)? Both are more or less atheist, with a few Christian or Deistic sprees.
(4) What is your race? Chinese
(5) What is your national origin? Canadian
(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours? 90%
(7) What region of the world do you live in? Canada
(8) What is the employment status of your parent(s), respectively, and what are (is) their income(s), respectively? Both employed as a doctor and a dentist. I'm a lucky fucker.
(9) What is your sex? Male
(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex? 35%
(11) How many friends do you have, approxamately? Probably 5-10 close friends, 10-15 more good friends, and then plenty of "friends". (ie. I'll say hi to them when I pass them.)
(12) What is the nature of your education? High School Diploma, currently first year undergraduate student at McGill in the Faculty of Science.
(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you.
Well my lectures are gigantic with at least 400 people in each... so I would say maybe 5% like me, 93.5% are completely indifferent, and 1.5% dislike me (although this is just Author's Preface. I can't think of anyone or any reason someone would particularly dislike me, but I have that there to be safe.)

Also, I'm surprised that you guys are actually giving diplomat the benefit of the doubt with regards to his PhD and his retired status. Who's retired at age 40-something that he once claimed to be? I'm calling shenanigans on him and saying that he's younger than 18.
Invictus (240 D)
24 Feb 09 UTC
Since everyone appears to be doing it, why not?

(1) What is your religious affiliation?
Roman Catholic. I'd like to say I'm right at the border of being a Traditionalist, just not quite that crazy.

(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)?
My mother is pretty blindly conservative, although she's implied she voted for Carter the first time. My dad is conservative too, but I think he cares more about results than ideology.

(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)?
Both Catholic, and my future wife had better be or boy will I hear about it...

(4) What is your race?
I'm white.

(5) What is your national origin?
American, mostly Irish descent.

(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours?
Less than 10%, but the ones that are are very close.

(7) What region of the world do you live in?
The great state of Illinois

(8) What is the employment status of your parent(s), respectively, and what are (is) their income(s), respectively?
My dad is a sales executive for a medial packaging company and my mom stays home now. She used to design fur coats, if you're interested. I don't know how much my dad makes, but I'll guess we're upper middle middle class.

(9) What is your sex?
Male.

(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex?
I'll guess 40%. That's far too many, "friendship" with a girl is a tomb. Joke.

(11) How many friends do you have, approximately?
There are probably well over 60 I'd be happy to hang out with anytime, and around 10 who are very close. Ever growing here in college.

(12) What is the nature of your education?
I'm in college right now. The goal is to be a lawyer. It used to be finance.

(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you.
Everyone likes everyone in a college class, or rather doesn't care enough about most others to dislike them. I can't think of anyone who's ever acted like they really dislike me back in high school, but I suppose there were a few.

Oh, and I have a Ph.D. in bullshit. I cited diplomat1824 in my dissertation.

(1) What is your religious affiliation? None really... though I tend to agree with the belief system of Buddhism... though it's not entirely a religion.
(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)? My mom is Republican, Dad has Democratic beliefs but for political reasons uses the title "Republican" (VERY Republican county).
(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)? Mom is Catholic, Dad is Presbyterian.
(4) What is your race? Caucasian - Irish, Scottish, Swedish.
(5) What is your national origin? US
(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours? Tough to say... my GF is Puerto Rican/Serbian though... maybe 30%?
(7) What region of the world do you live in? US
(8) What is the employment status of your parent(s), respectively, and what are (is) their income(s), respectively? Mom: Entomologist, Dad: Private practice attorney. I'd rather not say income, but it's pretty solidly middle class. Don't splurge, but they don't have to worry much either. Just smart spending on the necessities.
(9) What is your sex? Male
(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex? 60%
(11) How many friends do you have, approxamately? I'd say 10 close friends, another 30-ish that I'd hang out with, and probably a 100 or so I could chat with.
(12) What is the nature of your education? Junior at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Specialized Chemistry.
(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you: Huge lectures, most people don't care. Of those that do I'd say 95% like me.

I thought diplomat said he was in high school? And it's awfully suspicious that someone would dodge the question of their PhD after having to work so hard for it. Unless he answers the question he loses any credibility he had.

(2) What is the political affiliation of your parent(s)? Mother is conservative, father is liberal
(3) What is the religious affiliation of your parent(s)? None
(4) What is your race? White
(5) What is your national origin? American
(6) What percentage of your friends are of a race different from yours? 20-30%
(7) What region of the world do you live in? Colorado, USA
(8) What is the employment status of your parent(s), respectively, and what are (is) their income(s), respectively? Father is a medical physicist, mother is an electrical engineer.
(9) What is your sex? Male
(10) What percentage of your friends are of a different sex? 50%
(11) How many friends do you have, approximately? Uh... about 15 close friends, although that could be more or less depending on how you define "friend"
(12) What is the nature of your education? Currently in high school
(13) If you are currently being educated in a school format, give as a ratio the number of your classmates would say they dislike you as compared to those who would say they like you.
Most of my classmates are probably apathetic about my entire existence. Of those that I interact with, maybe 85-90% like me and 10-15% dislike.

You just gotta love it when you predict somebody's every move.
Just the feeling of knowing that your inside their head, and putting in your orders, knowing the outcome.

Then, going back to see the outcome and seeing just how badly you just decimated them, and all your assumptions were correct.
